It’s ridiculous!!! vs. It’s cute vs. It’s okay, just not for me.

Hi, I’m soon-to-be a young mom to a baby girl! The only problem is I’m not shure of the name. I adore the name Ryan Chase, but my family says it’s ridiculous and stupid. No one has said anything positive about it. Am I crazy to name my baby girl this? Please help! ~Allie

That is definitely a boy’s name.

I completely agree with your...family!!!!

Horrible. It sounds similar to naming her George James. Sorry.

What about Rhiannon?

I think it’s cute! My girls name is Ryan Chase, too. My parents didn’t like it either, but they got over it. Now they say they can’t picture her with any other name! Gl!

I think it’s a super cute name, but when I read your post I thought it was for a boy until you said baby girl. I would choose either Ryan or Chase and put it with a more feminine name.

I personally don’t see why people want their girl to be a boy. Just wait for a boy, your parents and your child will thank you later when she doesn’t have to answer the phone to someone looking for man named Ryan or when she is put in the boy’s only thing. Please spare this girl that name.

People can probably tell your young when you named her this. Not a good sign.

I love Unisex!!!

But I fear that you are crossing a line that was well drawn out for Ryan. William is just as masculine as Ryan, you don’t see people name their daughters that do you??

Pick one or the other and find a more girly mn/fn.

Ryan Claire
Ryan Charlotte
Ryan Alyssa

Harley Ryan
Melissa Ryan
Jessica Ryan

Chase Marlene
Chase Kaylin
Chase Ariana

Noelle Chase
Jaqueline Chase
Makayla Chase

Hmm, well, I don’t personally care for either name for a boy or a girl. However, the names do go well together, but without knowing your child and just seeing the name written down, I would assume that it was a boy. Having said that, it is your baby and if it’s the name you love, then use it, it is a masculine name, but it’s not a horrific name. GL!

I don’t get people these days. They say Ryan Chase is adorable for a girl..than why can’t someone name their son Katherine Elizabeth?
posted by guest :: 15 years ago | report
Chase can be part of a girls name or Riley can but putting them together makes it very masculine. Sorry. Try pairing Riley or Chase with a feminine mn like LeAnn or Elizabeth. Good Luck.

I don’t like either names for a boy. I had a best friend named Ryan (a girl) but she died five years ago. She didn’t mind her name, or regret it! That’s what gave me the idea to name her Ryan. I’m just torn that people think it’s so bad. I love it! What should I do? ~Allie

I you love it than go for it but don’t think that people will like it and think about it when your daughter has to introduce herself via computer typing in her name, the name is way too common for a boy to even consider. Would you like to be name George? personally think it’s dumb.

What about Rylah Chase or Cassandra Ryan or do what I did in my other comment, pick one or the other...

My name is Ryan and things arn’t so bad! I don’t get offended when people think I’m a guy (I some times even play along with it). Though, I grew up with my brothers and guy-friends who loved me, so When I was little I wasn’t ever teased. Only wto middle school. After middle school I was fine. Things are still good. Ryan is a great name. If you like it, use it!

Ryanne Chase would be a little different

I think Ryan is pretty on a girl...but think you should pair it with a feminine middle name.

Ryan (Boy name)
Meaning: Little KING
Or This is a boy name and she will be teaser :)

Ryan-Gal you named your daughter Ryan and your name is Ryan?

Ryan is great, and it has meaning, which is really sweet. I agree that a different, more feminine middle name would be great with it. The spelling Ryann(e) is cute. Do you like it?

I think ryan is a great name for a girl! it is becoming more unisex. I know two girls from college with the name ryan. I would consider a different m/n or use ryanne chase as stated before. Good luck
I hope you choose ryan!

i like Ryan/n for a girl but not Chase, what about

Ryann Gemma
Ryann Carys
Ryann Lilah
Ryann Sadie

also liking the suggestion of Rhiannon, but i can see why you’re using Ryan, i say go with that and choose another middle name or make Ryan the middle name
