Elliott as a vs. girls name?
I’ve always really liked Elle but thought it could use a longer name, and Elle could be a nickname, but I never really loved any of the names that could be shortened to Elle. When I found/thought of Elliott as a girls name I kind of fell in love with it, but I’m worried about the fact that it’s traditionaly a boys name. If I did use Elliott she would mostly go by Elle. What are your opinions on Elliott as a girls name, or other traditional boys names as girl names in general?

You posted last night, I was going to post last night being it was a name I want to comment on; I will tonight.
I like Elliott for a girl, I had a ballet student named Elliott Sailors when she was younger; (you can google her name, she’s a model now). It was so lovely on her as a child, and still is now!
Good luck.

I don’t like the idea of Elliott for a girl personally. Maybe try to find something with the Elle sound that is less expected.

Elliott is such a masculine name
It’s just like boy names that end in ley people think it’s girly well it’s not !! Elle is a girl name in other names like Eleanor or even Elizabeth. But not Elliott.

Originally boy names are horrible on girls. If she’ll go by Elle most of the time name her Elizabeth or just Elle !!!

Lots of now very girly names were boys names at one point-Ashley, Addison, Madison, etc. I think Elliott is one that can cross the border because of the "Ellie" sound. I can definitely see Elliott on both genders.

Tell that to all girl Evelyns, Vivians and Claires just to name a few poster 5. Elliot isn’t unheard of for a girl. It isn’t really my style but I think it works. Don’t be dissuaded by all the it is a boy name, tons of names used to be boy’s names and now are exclusively used for girls.

I don’t like Elliot at all. There are much better El names for girls such as Eleanor, Elodie, Eloise, Eliana, Elowen etc.

No. Elliot may have Ell at the beginning but it still fsr too manly. Maybe Ellen or Elodie if you want something less common?

Avery, Madison, Addison, etc. are still more manly to me which is why I have always prefered them on boys and not really liked them on girls. Elliot is no different. It is just plain awful on a girl, sorry. There are plenty of amazing girl names with Elle in them, Elinora/Eleanora, Isabelle, Eliana, Elsa, Elodie, Ellen, Elena, Mirabelle, Clarabelle, Noelle, Arielle, Marielle, Arabelle, Penelope, Joelle, Adele/Adelle, Danielle, Michelle, Giselle, Gabrielle, Eloise, Ella, Elowen, Elise, Elizabeth, Elaine.

Hate it, in any spelling. Elle is a lovely standalone name and far better than masculine trendy name.
