Nina’s vs. Full vs. Name

It’s been cut down to Caterina, Myrina, Nerina, Lucina, Persephone, Zenina, and Athena after so many wonderful suggestions. Side note: We have a cat named Zeus...would it be weird to use Athena, Persephone, or Zenina (means daughter of Zeus) for our daughter? Let me know your thoughts and your fav. Thanks again!

Love Nina, as a nickname or a full name. From your list I would go with Persephone. It’s so gorgeous. Why shouldn’t your daughter have a great too, just like your cat? Not weird in the least. (But you’re asking a cat lady, so keep that in mind.)

Colleen means "little girl" in Irish, just like Nina does in Spanish. Colleen, nn Nina? Just a wildcard entry. Also, Nina is traditionally a nickname for Ann / Anne / Anna. So if you’ve got any of those in your framily it could do double duty as an honoring. Good luck! :0)

P.S. Anita (little Ana / Anne), nn Nina?

Yes, it would be weird.
My favorites are: Caterina and Lucina.
My great-grandmother is named Czarina!

It’s narrowed down to Caterina, Athena, Lucina, Persephone, and Myrina. Thanks everyone!

@Fredacat I didn’t know Nina was traditionally a nickname for Anna. That does make it all the more sweet to me as my Gma Anna Maria (who also went by Anita as a little girl lol) is like my favorite person in this world beside my hub and daughter ofc.

How is Czarina pronounced? With a hard Zar or a soft Zuh?

Athena is my favorite

Lucina or Catrina. Although I think Nina can stand on it`s own.

Why not Nina as it is.
