I know a Calli (no e) and I’ve always found it to be beautiful! It isn’t short for anything. She is around 14ish and the only one I’ve ever met.

I think it works fine as a stand alone first name, you just need to be prepared for constantly being asked if it’s a nickname!
I have a friend called Callie, she’s always being asked if it’s a nickname. She doesn’t mind being asked, usually she asks them what it would be a nickname for and people are stumped! I asked when we first met and was one of the first people to list possible longer/more formal names e.g. Callista, Callandra, Calla.

It’s much better as a nickname, imo. Plus, that gives her more options when she’s older.
Calla or Calantha or Calandra would be great full names. I’ve heard of Caroline nn Callie as well.

Callie makes me think of Calico- if you want a really offbeat kind of name. But just Callie is perfectly fine.
