Cute vs. or vs. Tacky
Hi! We are currently in the process of relocating to New Orleans and my husband thinks it would be really "cute" if we named our daughter Nola in honor of this move. What do you think? Is it cute or tacky? I’m not sure how I feel about it. Feel free to leave other first name suggestions and opinions in the comments. Thank you!

You could always give her a name with the initials n.o in reference to New Orleans?

I think that’s what my husband is doing with Nola since New Orleans is also referred to as NOLA. But maybe a different "No" name would be a little less obvious!

Maybe something a bit less obvious, like Magnolia nn Nola? I love the name Georgia, but as I live in Georgia, I think it would be a bit tacky, yes. Magnolia would also make sense because there are so many beautiful Southern Magnolias in the South!

I agree with the third poster. I wouldn’t make the name so obvious that it relates back to New Orleans. Magnolia is darling!

I think it’s cute, but i also like the idea of another name starting with "No". Maybe Nora or Noel/Noelle?

I wouldn’t say it’s even obvious! It would be obvious if it was Orla. Love Nola. Good luck!
