Esme Esme vs. Esme

Esme .......I absolutely love this name but not sure if I prefer it more as a middle name as it is beginning to get popular however It’s Defo on my list for first or middle name not interested in people telling me it’s the male version where I live this is how the girls are spelling it I’m just interested in how people feel about it would you use it as a first or middle name

I don’t think you need to worry about being criticized about the Esme spelling on here, I know from experience. I did a poll on here on the name for my daughter but we wanted to spell it Esmee and I was practically crucified for it, so you should be safe. ;) We didn’t end up going with that name but it is a lovely name whether you use it as a first or middle. GL

I only like the feminine spelling, but regardless I like it best as a middle name. It flows so beautifully. As a first name, it sounds rather pretentious.

I have no clue how to pronounce it, so I’d say it’s better as a middle name. My best guess would be Ess-mee, but that doesn’t sound at all attractive so I’m guessing that’s not right. Ez’m would be my second guess, but that doesn’t sound flattering or like a name.

Don’t worry about Twilight thing, I don’t know why people are so weird about that. The pronounciation is Ez-may.
