Dolores (nn Dolly) vs. Lola vs. Lolita

My mother-in-law Dolores Bonita passed away and we wanted to honor her. My husband is Spanish-descendant and I’m Irish. What form of Dolores would you consider the best? Any ideas for her middle-name? We also have a son, Declan Guilhermo.

I went with Lola, but what about Lori? Lori Miranda, Lori Carmella, Lori Shannon, Lori Christina, Lori Maria. Good luck!

I’d name her Dolores and call her Dolly, Lola or Lolita. That way she’ll have a variety of nns to choose from. And if she wants to go by a more formal name she also can. Plus, I think Lola might be too sexy for a girl and Lolita sounds too nicknamish for my taste.

I think Lolita is too trashy. Lola is ok, but all I think of is..."Lola, she was a showgirl...at the Copa, Copa Cabana..."

Delores nn Lori would be a nice way to honor your mother in law. Delores Shannon nn Lori. Good luck!
