Pick from Irish names vs. ?? vs. Pick names you Love

Hey, my husband is dead set on picking an Irish name. He is proud of his heritage and wants to use Irish names period. I think we should use names we love no matter what the origin is. My poll is to see what you all think, should we just explore Irish names or should we just read through the book? Also if you have suggestions of a middle ground that's nice. Future poll to come when decide what names to pick! Thanks ~Emma and Shane.

Definitely pick names you love; don't just go Irish for the sake of having an Irish name. That said, if you both were able to go through a list of Irish names and there were some that you liked, that Might be a good way to find some middle ground.

Why don't you look st some Irish names to see if there are any that you love since it's important to him. However, if you don't find any that you. Oth love then definitely don't feel limited and open your search!

I think you should look for Irish names to see if you love any but if you don't, pick names you love. Or maybe use an Irish middle name. I love Saoirse, Keira, Killian, Kieran and Ronan

Erin or Sean

These are Irish, yet used by those who are not Irish. I beg your pardon, but some deeply Irish names will never be pronounced correctly in the U.S.

Yes! Thank you "Me." My husband like names like Aofie and Adair, which are Irish but won't ever be pronounced correctly here!

I'd use one Irish name and the other could be of any origin.

You should only use names you like for first names, period. However, I think the Irish heritage is important enough that you ought to use an Irish name for either the first or middle name. And I think you can find something tolerable enough to use in the middle name slot (you'll hardly ever be saying) even if that name style isn't your favorite.

If all else fails, make Shane his middle name. That clearly points to his heritage and honors Dad at the same time.
