Romeo vs. Emilio

We love both these names. My husband is Puerto Rican, so we both decided to give our son a Spanish name. Which one do you prefer AND why? Feedback would really help, since we cannot decide. Gracias Jenny & Diego

Shakespeare pretty much ruined Romeo for all guys. I think the unisex name Romilly or just Rome could be nice though. I love Emilio.

Romeo comes with too much baggage - I only know of two. The classic one from the play (a 15 year old who kills himself over a girl he's known for a weekend - thanks but no thanks! Don't get me started on Juliet!) and Romeo Beckham.

I really like Emilio! Romeo is nice, but I feel like this is the one name where having a connection with Shakespeare actually detracts from the name. Emilio is quite handsome! GL!
