Hi, I am a teacher and just got married and my husband’s last name is Gillice. My maiden name is Idolin- Gibson and I don’t know if I want to change it completely to my married name (am worried it will be too hard to pronounce and spell) or if I should carry my married name and only one of my maiden names and hypenate it (don’t know which one to use) Please help me!! I want to re-do the paperwork and I’m stuck and this will be it!! Thanks and NO RUDE COMMENTS PLEASE!! Thank you so very much!

I would keep my maiden name for professional reasons, and "use" Gillian when answering correspondence addressed to you and husband as a couple.

Sorry, I meant Gillice, not Gillian.

I choose Gillice it’s the maiden name of my Great Grandmother :D, and I think it would be nice for you to have the same name as your future children.

I’d recommend taking your husband’s name. it’s no more difficult to pronounce/spell than your maiden name, which you’ve probably been explaining all your life. If you’re super-attached to your maiden name, then you could either keep it as your middle name or change your last name to Idolin-Gillice or Gibson-Gillice. Personally I’d want to have the same last name as my children.

I agree with everyone about having the same last name as your children, so I would go with Gillice.

Take your husband’s name. It’s better and anyway, show the guy some support. You’re one family so have one name.

I actually like Gillice the best. It’s nice-sounding, but not really common like Gibson. And it’s probably easier to spell/pronounce than Idolin.
