Schuyler vs. Or easier spelling
I really like the name Schuyler (this spelling) but I'm worried the spelling will cause too many troubles as it is quite unusual. Should I stick with the spelling Schuyler or go simple with Skyler/Skylar. His middle name will be either Robert or Christopher if that helps. Thankyou

Skyler or Skylar, Schuyler doesn't even look like it could be pronounced like Skyler.

I know a teenage Schuyler and his name is pronounced schuyl-er all the time. It could be just where I live, Midwest. So I would go with Skyler.

Traditional is always best. I like Schuyler as opposed to Skyler or Skylar. Skyler and Skylar are too feminine for me.

Schuyler to me looks like shy-ler or ch-eye-ler! I do like the traditional spelling better but I also like it better on a girl! But if you like it then go for it!

Schuyler Robert gmv. Very handsome.
Schuyler is Dutch, meaning "scholar." It would be ironic if a name with this meaning got a dumbed-down spelling. I know there are some names that are so user-unfriendly that phonetic spellings are called for. (I'm looking at you, Gaelic.) But Schuyler is a well known surname. No need to alter it.
If you do alter it, I'd go with Skyler. My brain keeps wanting to turn Skylar into Skylark which sounds feminine. Good luck! :0)

Schuyler is masculine. The other spellings I have only seen on girls. Schuyler is also a town in Nebraska,so it doesnt seem unusual at all to me.
