What would vs. you do?

What would you do if you or your husband didn’t like any of the family names for your son’s middle name. Some are maiden names or grandfather’s names/husband’s. Here are some of them. Lyle, Charles, Archibald, Floyd, Free, Pat, Young, Randy, Dudgeon. None of them work well with the name Jacob or Caleb and we aren’t crazy about any of them. What would you do?

I think Jacob Charles or Caleb Charles sound great! Caleb Patrick (for Pat) would also be really nice! What do you think??

Find a name we loved that went with the name we wanted and hang the family name..Its always been a tradition that the 1st daughter in my family has the middle name Lynn..I hate that middle name so I broke that tradition my daughter was Iridessa Evangeline..and it was a long tradition to break...5 generations

Don’t use names you don’t like. You don’t have to use a family name. I agree with the first poster though, I think Charles and Patrick would both work well with Jacob and Caleb. GL!

My brother’s name is Jacob Patrick! I think it works nicely. I really like Caleb Charles too.

I agree that you shouldn’t use names you don’t like, just because they are family names...but I also agree that Patrick sounds really great with Jacob or Caleb!

I like Jacob Charles and Caleb Patrick. I think they’re handsome but if your husband dislikes all the names then you two must compromise. I wouldn’t use a family name unless you were both in agreement. I used family names for mn’s for both my sons but my husband and I both agreed on it.

Don’t use them if you don’t want to.
I like Jacob Charles. I prefer Jacob to Caleb. I LOVE Jacob!
