pronounce taia, vs. teah

We have decided on Teah (tay-ah) for our little girl, but some have said that it would be pronounced Tee-ah, instead of Tay-ah. Looking at variations- Taia, Taya, Teya, Teia. I see Taya like Maya + don’t love the ’y’ in it- love the spelling Teah- looks soft and is variation of Thea (lovely meaning)...I don’t know, what do you think. Thx for your help

I think it would some people would probably pronounce it as Tee-ah. I think that way is really pretty but I don’t like it pronounced as Tay-ah.

I personally like Thea more, but Teah is also nice. And no, I don’t think it’ll be mispronounced as tee-a. Not too often, anyway. Its less confusing than the spelling Tea, which is always said a tee

I think people might assume Teah is pronounced like Leah. However, most of the time they will take their cue from you, and most people only have to be corrected once. Besides, I don’t know if any spellings of this name have cut-in-stone pronounciations. Spell it the way that looks best and makes the most sense to you. Good luck!

I like Tea the best, but Teah is nice too. The only spelling I know of that people get right on the first try is Teija.

I think Taya would get pronounced right the most, but if you don’t like it , i say go for Taia.

We named our first born Teah (pronounced Tay-ah). It works for us! P.s I love how the spelling of the name looks.

Also named my daughter with this name- Spelled Teah pronounced (Taya).
