Ella is a gorgeous nickname if you decide to go with something less unique to call her. Novie is so cute as the pp suggested too <3 I say go for it, I think Novella Grace or Novella Charlotte would be just lovely. I just posted above that I like the name and I was asking my husband what he thought because I actually like it and wondered if he might want to put it on our name list. He speaks spanish and told me that Novella means "pocketbook" in Spanish. Not that that should sway you against using it, but you just might want to keep that in mind. There are a lot of names like that in English that I ask my husband about and he tells me they have some crazy meaning in Spanish but it doesn’t mean people don’t use them. Like Savannah, means sheet in Spanish and I guess most people don’t know or don’t care. Just FYI.

It also means "short book" to many authors. Like Stephen King’s book "The Mist" says it is a novella.
