What do you think of the name Halcyon? I like to pronounce it HAL-see-on, but I was told it could be pronounced HAL-kee-on, or HAL-kae-on, do you know which one it is? Its from a greek myth, usually meaning golden or marked by peace and prssperity. Mn suggestions welcome! Thanks! (oh, and what gender do you think it is? I’ve always though girl, but if its a guys name....)

I think of it as a boys’ name, and I would pronounce it ’hall-KEE-on’. It definitely sounds like something from a greek myth and I would never use it for my child.

I know it pronounced as hal-see-yon and have heard it as a surname in a book series I ADORE called The Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin. The character Edgar Halcyon is a great one, so I like the name and it is masculine to me. GL!!
