Using vs. Family vs. Names

My husband and I are thinking about naming our son or daughter after our grandparents some how. We haven’t come up with a a good combo yet and would love some suggestions. We are also open to other names that aren’t exactly the same or just use the same first letter. The names of our grandmothers are; Karen, Mary, Elizabeth, and Rosemary. Grandfaters; Roger, Jean, Donald, and Kenny.

I love Elizabeth as a first name! So incredibly cute, and it honours your grandmother! Love it! Wait- how is there so many grandparents? ..... haha ..... anyway, would you consider using similar names to those for middle names?

Rosemary Kay seems to hit 3 birds with one stone... You’ve got the Rosemary, you’ve got the Mary and I just like the sound of "K" or "Kaye" as a middle, but it could stand for Karen.

The boys names are a bit harder for me... but Kenneth Jay (standing for Jean)... ?

haha, there are so many grand parents because I have my husband and I both have two sets of grandparents. (They are our grandparents not the childs.)

I like Elizabeth Rose, but knew someone in high school that doesn’t make the name sit well with me as a first name.

I am not a huge fan of Roger or Jonathon.

I don’t know how I feel about Rosemary as a first name because it seems a little outdated, but I really like the idea of all three names together thought.

We are in the same boat with the family names. Ours are abslutely horrible though. I say use a name that you love. Don’t feel forced into family names if you don’t love them, unless there’s a name that is traditionally passed down.

I really like Elizabeth Rose for a girl. There are many cute nicknames for Elizabeth to. Donovan Roger is a nice name for a boy.

I like Mary & Elizabeth. I don’t like the boy names. If you know their mn’s maybe you could use one of those.
