I think the thought is sweet, but I really dislike Billie on a girl, sorry, and IMO there is no way to make it pretty. Do you dislike Alexandra? I find it beautiful. GL!!

What about using her maiden name? Alexandra is better than Billie, though, even if your name is Alexa...or just use Billie as the middle name

but honestly...your poor child will get teased. And it sounds like a bullies name. I respect you for wanting to honor your grandmother but she would understand i’m sure. I think Andrea is beautiful! and it isn’t to close to your name Alexa.

Sorry, but I *really* dislike Billie on a girl. It sounds very masculine to me (this might, in part, be because it was my grandFATHER’s name).

I do have a suggestion, though. What about calling her Willa instead? I think Willa is really sweet, and ultimately it’s from the same root as Billie. What do you think?

I dislike Billie for a girl IMO. It just doesn’t sound right on a girl. You could always just use the B from your grandmother’s name. Or you can have Billie be her middle name.

I agree though, Alexa and Alexandra are too similar.

I like Billie- Jane Cecilia a lot! Honor you granny and let her choose to use Billie or not when shes older.
