Hi. My husband and I thought we had a name picked out for our baby due in March. We had Adria. We like uncommon names. However, we came back to a name on our list which is Mara. We both like it and it’s very uncommon. However, we know there will be some pronunciation issues. We would pronounce it as Mare-uh most likely. Anyway, what do you think about the name, it’s uncommoness, the way it sounds etc. Thank you.

What about Moira- my husband and I LOVED the name, but chose something else instead. It’s Irish, I remembered it from the movie Hook. Peter Pan’s wife was named Moira.

I like Adria much better than Mara and I think it’s much more unique as well.

I don’t particularly like the name, but you seem to if you keep going back to it. Do it if that’s the one you want. Maybe you can spell it differently to aid in the pn. Marrah, Marra??

When I looked at Mara, I pronounced it Marr ah.

I think Adria might be mispronounced, too. Maybe you should spell it Maira or Mairah. No confusion there.
