Americanized vs. Names
My husband is from America and I am from the UK. We’re having our first child due in August. We don’t know the sex of the baby and choose not to. I have only lived here in America for two years, so I don’t know too many "American" names. I worry that if we choose one of our favourite names, that is more of a traditional British name that the child will be made fun although my husband does not think so. Any ideas for a more American name???
Charley and Gemma
PS- In case you were wondering the "British" names that are our favourite are Eppie, Gilliana, Evelia, Idalia, Letty for girls and Kelby, Allastor, Alfie, Bradford, Blaise for boys.

I agree wit you your kid might get made fun of but Bradford, not so much because for a nickname it could be Brad and that is pretty americanized for a girl Haley or Megan or Madeline/Madison or even Caroline or Lily

I’ve lived in the US and UK growing up (mom’s here in US and dad lives in England)... anyway, I don’t think you child would have too much of a problem with teasing, if they have a more British sounding name. From your list of Boy Names, they all seem really nice and a little different. You don’t really meet too many Kelbys or Allastors here in the states, but I think the names are refreshing compaired the -ayden names that are all the current craze. Your girl names are nice too. They sound kind of etherial - very pretty.

I love all your names! The only ones I see being made fun of are Eppie and letty. I have seen all of your boys names before..they aren’t too common though:). In fact my father in laws middle name is Kelby. Other than Gilliana I haven’t seen any of your girls names, but I really like Evelia and Idalia. I can’t see them being made fun of. well good Luck!

I’m not fond of Eppie, Letty & Kelby. All the rest are pretty nice. Letty would be a really cute nn for Leticia/Letitia/Aleta. Which I think it was originally for.
