I like these names as well, classic yet unique. I like Cedric a bit more, but you can’t go wrong with either one. Since they are a bit more unique I think Alexander makes a great middle name. I think the length of Alexander flows better with both names as well. May I ask what your son may look like? (Dark hair/light hair, etc)

I LOVE Cedric, and the fact that it is a Harry Potter character name makes me like it even more. Cyrus would be interesting but right now it is way too Miley Cyrus. GL!!

Chances are my son will have blonde or light brown hair, though there is some red in our family as well. Does either name make you think of a certain physical appearance?

I really don’t like Cedric. It reminds me of Cedric the entertainer. That’s bad. Cyrus is new to me too, but I’m not hating it!

I’m not a fan of Cedric for some reason, but I do quite like Cyrus (I also love Silas).

I also the nn Cy.

I do think Cyrus is getting more popular, and I wonder if it’s getting a bit of a "country," vibe because people think of Miley Cyrus and her dad.

If you like both equally, Cedric is probably less likely to get popular soon.
