Give me a name (or several), this can either be just as a first name, a middle name, or a first name and middle name together - if you choose this last option then it's helpful to include the surname if possible as that can change the flow of the whole thing. I'll rate it on a scale of 1 -10, and then say why I think that.

I appreciate that everybody has different styles and opinions, and this page is simply a way of getting somebody else's opinion on your name choices, so please remember that what I say is simply what I feel and I do not mean to cause any offence at all; I just want to be honest <3

So yeah - I hope you find this useful! :D

If you would like yet another opinion then please have a look at this thread too 'Baby Name Rater!!!' http://www.babynameg...ame rater&st=0
She basically does what I do :)

This is kind of pointless..... BabyNameRater has been doing this for forever and everyone always goes to her. What was the point of starting this topic? Seems a little rude to me, copying someone else.

I greatly disagree with what you're saying and admonishing someone for doing something simply because someone else has done it seems more than rude to me. Rubixi if you want to rate names go for it! And welcome to babynamegenie : ) now let's get back to the purpose of this thread.

Just because someone else has done something before doesn't mean she's being "rude" or "copying". There's many areas of life where people have done something before someone else - if everyone was worried about copying someone else, we'd have copycats all over the place. Js.

Recently, I've really started to get into Cornish and Welsh names. So, Rubixi, WDYT of Morwenna/Wenna?

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to seem that way, this is just something I like doing and always have. I only came across this site today and decided to do this because it's fun and can be helpful. I know that everyone goes to BabyNameRater (I actually asked her about some names today!), and the reason is because she's brilliant at what she does (a thousand times better than me in fact) which is why I mentioned her, because if someone happened to come across my profile before hers (very unlikely I know - but lets just say) they ought to go to her as well. It's not really copying since I've wanted to do something like this for a while now. And I wouldn't say it's pointless because the whole subject of names is based on opinions (like I said), and so if anyone wanted another opinion aside from her's, I thought I might open up that option.

Again, sorry if it seemed rude to you, but I don't think it's really a bad thing to do something that someone else does, it's not as if I'm claiming I'm as good or experienced as her - I just enjoy this sort of thing. :)

Haha, I think it's quite a cool name, for me it would probably be a 6 or 7/10. It's definitely more unusual, I guess it's pretty obvious why some people wouldn't like it, but personally I think it's nice, I like that it's the name of bird because of the connotations - as well as the fact that it literally just sounds nice.

I think of it as more of a boy's name. :)

Look, I'm sorry it's just that Ren (BabyNameRater) is my cousin and I kinda over reacted a bit. She was a little peeved at me when she found out I said that so I figured I would apologize. If you want some tips though maybe you should talk to her, she loves helping people and could help you if you wanted. She helps me all the time. Anyway, sorry again for going a little overboard.

I love Welsh and Cornish names too! On that note, Both Morwenna and Wenna sound lovely to me, Morwenna 9/10 and Wenna 8. I've never really been able to place my finger on why I love these sorts of names so much, they just sound very Elfin, elegant and beautiful.

P.S: I was looking through your favourite girl's names, and I have to say, I really really like them - you even have my name in there ^ ^

That's a higher rating than I was expecting ^ ^ I don't know why but I've really been liking odder names lately so it's like a long list of gp names now X D
Some other names I wonder how you'd rate:
Sorrel
Tòmas (Scottish version of Thomas which I've grown to love : )
Calliope

@blush it's a name that seems to do that isn't it? It's like the more you think about it the more you like it, I'd definitely use it for a character name or for a pet X D haha a dog named Kestrel nn Kes might be pretty amusing!

Yay - someone else who loves Welsh/Cornish names! Like I said, I just recently discovered them, but almost every name of those origins that I've come across, I've liked. :)
Thanks for the ratings; and I agree: the names are elegant, beautiful, and really different.
Awh, thank you! Oh, what's your name? If you don't mine me asking..

Yes, it really does! I think it's because it's so different sounding...you have to think about it for a sec before forming an opinion on it.(; Kessie is also a cute nickname, IMHO!

Honey you've got nothing to apologise for to anyone. Don't let people like ButterflyLadybug bring you down and don't think for a second that anyone is better than you about this sort of thing. It all comes down to opinion's and your opinion isn't worth any less than anyone else's.

Anyway, down to business. My names! I have a short surname (one syllable) and all the names my husband and I choose have meanings to us (hence two middle names and them not always having the best flow!) so here goes!

Willow Michelle Zelda

Eric Adam Brian

Elizabeth "Buffy" Winifred Cambria

I think it is a great idea to get different ratings/opinions on names!

Blush: I've never heard Morwenna before, but I really like it!

Coyote: I LOVE Kestrel! Used it in a short story about two years ago.

Rubixi: Here are a few girl names for you to rate:

Asa, Blythe, Chandler, Leonora

Excited to hear from you!

I've already tried this on the link you suggested (I appreciate her thoughts), but I'd like several more opinons before a start changing my list around. Also Gwen and Maree are family names.

Sabrina Catherine/Elizabeth Paige
Alyssa Michelle Gwen/Pearl
Rydel Elizabeth/Heather Maree

Anders Elijah Scott
Axel James Blake
Blaine Andrew Tristan
Damien Zane Tyler
iolaus Apollo Troy
Riker Anthony Dean (for Riker, nothing to do with the prison)
Wyatt Matthew Cole

For the record, I like what you are doing. Everyone has different opinions, so its good to ask different people on their thoughts of names before making a decision.

I think it's great to get different opinions on my names. I always ask my friends for their opinions, and while they don't necessarily sway me one way or the other, it's just nice to be able to consider their opinions.

Some names for you:
