Avery is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's such a cute name! And Claire is a very pretty name as well. I think Avery Claire is a gorgeous name for your daughter.

To be completely honest, the combo is too boyish for my taste. With Avery and Claire both being unisex, it just lacks any feminity. I'd suggest a new middle name or add a middle name.
Avery Hope
Avery Charlotte
Avery Sophia
Avery Louise
Avery Laura
Avery Cora
Avery Eleanor
Avery Stella
Avery Sarah
Avery Tessa
Avery Madeline Claire
Avery Margot Claire
Avery Paloma Claire
Avery Adelaide Claire
Avery Cecelia Claire
Avery Nora Claire
Avery Jessa Claire

To be honest, Claire is all girl to me.
Both Avery and Claire are "R" heavy so the combo is a bit off for me. I like Addison's suggestion of adding in a second middle name to change the flow a little.

I've never seen Claire on a boy! Interesting.
To be honest, Claire is all girl to me.

Traditionally, it was strictly male but is becoming mostly female these days I know only one male Claire and one female Claire, plus a few girls with Claire as an mn.
My middle name was Claire before I change it to the more feminine Clara.

I like both Claire and Clara. I think it comes down to which you love more and feel more comfortable with.

But I suppose its like Hayley, Lindsey, Kelly, Jade, Kimberly, Meredith, Shannon or even Addison that are now mostly female but started out strictly male. You do sometimes see them on men, but not often. Thats why Claire wouldnt really be considered unisex nowadays. Avery would. But thats my opinion.
I would say they are all unisex because no matter which way they drift, they'll be suitable for both genders. To label them as a female name just doesn't seem right imo, especially because they are still actively used for males. When I hear Kelly, I still don't have any assumption as to what their gender is. But that's just my two cents
I'm just saying Avery Claire is an androgynous combo

You don't sound harsh, Annie!
Even if you don't prefer it on boys and it may mostly be used for girls, wouldn't it make a little boy named Claire feel bad if you said his name was only for girls, even though technically it can be used for boys, too?
I swear I didn't mean to spark a debate about Claire. I'm just saying, I know a guy with the name and there are plenty others out there, so Avery Claire IS androgynous. It really isn't debatable, it is fact. If the OP is good with using a unisex name, then so be it. Her choice, I'm just making her aware.
(I know I am adding a bunch of smiley faces, I just don't want to sound rude! I mean this in good spirits)
