So, I do adore odd, strange, why-did-you-name-her-that names! I know, however, that many people don't like that sort of name, but I want to know that if anyone has a name they like that they have no idea why they like. Say, you like names like Julia and Lydia and Helena, but you simply love the name Lemon and you have no idea why?? Anyone like that?? Let me know!!

  • Interests:I LOVE reading. I'm into almost every genre and generally read a book a week, if possible. I like Iris Johansen, Karen Marie Moning, Stephen King, James Patterson, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Diana Gabaldon, Kathy Reichs, and Robert Burns (every Scot's favorite author). I really love music and even got accepted to the Mason Gross School of Performing Arts at Rutgers University (my alma mater) for vocal performance. Unfortunately performance life was not for me, so I went into English Lit and French instead. Music is still a big part of my life, and I like a multitude of musical genres from Reggae to Rock to Opera. I've seen Carmen and La bohème each twice. (And I cry every time.) My husband and I also have a special place in our hearts for The Beatles.

I'm more of a traditionalist, but my sister was going to name her baby Ginger. She was addicted to Ginger Snap cookies all throughout her pregnancy. She ended up having a boy, named Jayden Felix, but she still calls him her little cookie since Ginger just was no longer an option to her.

Yeah, well my sister Fiona is a bit... Umm, how shall I say this? She's a free spirit. And maybe she'll use Ginger on a girl latter on, who knows.

"...and Jayden Felix welcomes baby sister Ginger Snaps into the world"...lol. I actually think it's kind of cute, now that you mention it, but I'm weird like that.

I can't say there's one category I like more than any others. Just certain names. :]
But I like Sailor. And Sawyer, Mika, Cobain, Warhol, Monet, Morrissey, Ireland (these are all on my list of names for any future children, some as middles, two as firsts). But I also like Lennon, Lennox, Kane, Briar, and Lux.

Who ISN'T a fan of the Beatles, though? I mean..honestly, you would probably get assassinated just for saying you didn't like them. Haha.
But still, you don't see any McCartneys running around (although I'm sure there will be in due time what with all the McKenzies, McKennas, and such).
Then there's Harrison, but I'm not sure that name has anything to do with the Beatles. It's just a good name. And Starr? Let's hope not. One 'r' if we're going to go that way, please.

In high school I told my friend I was going to name my first son Lennon McCartney Harrison Starr...I was thirteen, but it sounded good enough to me. lol.

Oh, I'm sure you and my husband could just go on for hours about them. He's so obsessed that the song the DJ played at our wedding when we were cutting the cake was When I'm 64. He wanted our first dance to be to In My Life, but I sang that song in a quartet while in school, and lets just say I didn't want to be reminded of those divas on my day.
Brian (my husband) is already trying to talk me into making the baby's mn Lennon, if and when we have a son. :D

Yes, well they were the great ones, weren't they? lol. But Lennon is a great name and a great way to honor one of the Beatles! At least he's not trying to talk you into Lennon McCartney Harrison Starr, lol.

At least Lennon McCartney Harrison Starr sounds somewhat normal. It's better than naming your kid Jagger Richards Watts Wood or something similar. Even though Jagger IS a name now.. But I think you should go for it, Scarlet. I love Lennon! I was thinking of it for a girl, but I like it on a boy too. :]

Oooo, no. I can't see Lennon on a girl because the name just says John Lennon to me.

Yeah, definitely. Me too. But I still think it's cute for a little girl, I have no idea why. Haha. Lennon Rose is flying up on my list. It's always going to be a masculine name though. And it suits a little boy perfectly.

I like different names...I like the name Lennox or Lennon. I like Phoenix, Callum, Declan for boys. However, I'm not sure I'd actually use any of the names...but I like them.

As you know I'm a fan of classic names, but my guilty pleasures are mostly astronomy-related named like Andromeda or Cassiopeia, and then are some nicknames I like as names, like Ellie or Mia. And then for boys it's names like Jay, Kai, Liam or Sam. I think those are about the 'oddest' names I like. There might be a few like Lennon (style-wise), but at the moment I can't seem to remember any.

Names that are a little different that I love (or maybe a lot different):
1. Temperance
2. Lavender
3. Phoenix

There are also names that I think are very interesting and kind of cool, but would never have the guts to use... like Twilight. I think Twilight is very pretty. Also, I actually like Starr, especially with 2 r's.
