I'm not sure I'll be able to come up with 10 for each or 10 in general, so I'll just list the ones I can think of right now.

1. Hester <--- it sounds a bit harsh to use on a baby girl, but I seriously like this name. It was the name of a character in a book I read and I've liked it ever since.
2. Augustus <--- I have a thing for Roman names and this is my favourite
3. Cameo <--- again, the name of a character from a book
4. Ever <---it's just so cute
5. Emerald <--- I'd love to name a daughter this, but I doubt I'd have the guts to do so
6. Sapphire <--- same as above

These are names I like but I wouldn't name my children:
(in no particular order)

Avril - Avril Lavigne
Hermione - Hermione Granger
Amethyst- I think its a pretty name and colour but I don't know if I want it as a name
Lyric- I love songs and writing them so this would be cute
Story- I love reading so this would be great
Fantasy- My reading and drawing style. I love fantasy as subject and maybe as a pet name, but I don't know about a child.
Miara- Writing a fantasy book and this is the main character (it's in first person, so i have a real connection to the character)
Adia- After a song by Sarah Mclachlan that Avril lavigne covered. Also after a character in my book
Avalon- I just like it
Ember- It sounds nice to me
Pheonix- It's already taken by someone i know but I love it
Eragon- After the movie

Wilder- Character in my book. But I like it
Rune- I like it as a middle name.
Rocky- After a horse I used to ride

Hmm... let me think...

Seraphina - I just love this name! I don't know why, but I do, and so much!
Primrose - Hunger Games inspired, and still dear in my heart.
Ranger - meant to go on a boy, I prefer it one a girl. I might have the guts to use this one day.
Honor - I couldn't give a kid the name, it seems like a lot to live up to.
Lyric
Larkin - meant to go on a boy, I think, but I love this name so much!
Tiger-Lily - I honestly don't know why I love this name so much, but I do! It reminds me of Peter Pan :)
Pandora - the meaning makes it a little hard to agree with.
Sirius - technically a male name, thanks to Harry Potter, but I think of it as a version of the name Siri.
Niobe - mythology name, not a very good meaning, and would really work in the modern world.

Finnick - Hunger Games, again.
Mikhail - I don't know why, but I couldn't call a kid this.
Misha - in modern day terms, this is a girls name.
Sascha - see above.
Robin - see above. Reminds me of Robin Hood.
Caspar/Caspian - I might use this one, actually. Kinda fits with the whole "French" thing.
Ezra/Evra - kind of reminds me of Evra from Cirque du Freak.
Fransisco - no idea, but I love it!
Valentin - we watched the Spanish move in school, and I fell in love with the name.
Cyan - a bit girly, and a bit odd for an actual child.

I did originally have Lyra and Canaan on the list, but to be honest, I think you could use that, seen as what we now call Guilty Pleasure names seem to be used more often now.

Tobias (which my cousin just used on his son)
Jeremiah (Jeremiah Johnson, one of my dad's fave movie)
Jedidiah
Lakota (after my twin brother who was still born)
Owain (Owen is friggin everywhere around here but that spelling is too different for most people's tastes & I see it being butchered)
Mordred ( Liked the name but The Book of Mordred was what really cemented it into my guilty pleasure list)
Maybe Galahad, haven't quite decided if I like ot or not.

I love these, but would never use them...

GIRLS:

Aleah -- I've always liked the name Leah, and when I heard Aleah I thought it was nice, but I'd never use it, not sure why.

Brigitta -- From The Sound of Music! I love this name, but wouldn't want to use it. If I did though. I'd change the spelling to Birgitta, because I like how that sounds better.

Collins -- This name is from The Blind Side. When I heard it, I thought "Wow, that's interesting". I would never, ever use it though because it's not really my style.

Gwen -- For some reason I really like the sound of this name. I started liking it after watching a movie, an American Girl movie actually. It's great, but I wouldn't want to name my kid that.

Felicity -- Ah, I love this one, but it's too old fashioned. This is from American Girl too. (American Girl dolls) I love the nick-name they use in the Felicity books, "Lissie". It's adorable.

BOYS:

Atticus -- Atticus from To Kill a Mockingbird. Who wouldn't like this name after reading that book? However, I would never use it, it's just, well, a guilty pleasure. :D

Bryce -- This name is in memory of someone I kind of knew. I started really liking this name after I found out he died, even though it was really sad. The reason it would make me think of him would be why I wouldn't use it.

Elliott -- Recently I started really liking this name, and I don't have a reason. I think a lot of us have been liking it lately! As much as I love it though, I couldn't see myself ever using it.

Jace -- When I first heard this name I didn't like it all that much. Then the baby who had this name nearly died and ever since then this name has been so precious to me. However, he did end up dying later on and it was really sad. I wouldn't use this name because of that, but I still love it and I do love the sweet baby Jace who is now in Heaven.

Keegan -- I know a kid named Keegan, and if it wasn't because of that, I don't think I'd care for this name at all, but when you see a person a lot, you often start liking their name, and that's what happend to me. However, this name is a little too trendy for me...so I don't think I'd use it, by hey! Who knows, I might someday.

Those are my guilty pleasures as of now. :P That was fun!

Girls
Cosette -- Beautiful, but I don't like it enough to name a child that.
Louise -- Also beautiful, but just a hint too old fashioned for even me.
Keilyn -- A pretty cool name, but not my style.
Nicola -- I like it, but I couldn't use it because I have an association from naming a character this.
Kerrielle -- It kind of sounds like Kerry Ellis (I am a Wicked fan) and looks gorgeous... But just not right.
Kaliena -- Looks pretty, but otherwise I don't really like it.
Glenna -- This was my attempt to find a name that sounded like "Glinda", but different because I didn't want the obvious association. I actually like Glinda better than this one... :)
Annora -- Cute, but I couldn't use it.
Kennedy -- I went to grade school with someone named this... I like the name, but she ruined it for me.
Zathura -- Taken from a movie title. I think it sounds cool... But I don't have the guts to use it.

Boys
Liam -- I like it, but just not enough.
Keavin -- My substitue for Kevin... but, again, I like Kevin better.
Arlen -- Cute, but I can't see it on an adult.
Caliburn -- Very cool name for a guy, but I don't have the courage to use it.
Cohen -- I love this name, but I can't see it on a real person.
Amias -- The meaning ("friend") made me like this name, but I don't like it for a reason besides it.
Wilbur -- I want to like this name, but I really don't.
Kevin -- I do like this name, but this was the name of my second crush.
Zephas -- Another name that I want to like but I just can't.
Seven -- The coolest number name in my opinion, but I couldn't even use it on a pet.

I love them... but I wouldn't use them for my children.

Do you have a list of names that you like but a.) no one else does, b.) you would never actually use for a child, or c.) you would be embarrassed if anyone found out? Post them here!

For example, most people I know immediately shoot down the name Beatrice, but I sort of like it. I have a particular fondness for the name Carmen but would probably never use it. And I kind of like Chelsey (with this spelling), but I'm afraid people would roll their eyes at this name!

So, do you have any Guilty Pleasure Names? :)

For me, it is more like b. I like a lot of names but would never use them, like:

Calliope (although I get used to the thought of actually calling my daughter that!)
Pandora
Amalthea
Passiphae
Isis

Horas
Titus
Deimos

I guess those names are mythological names which definitely are my guilty pleasure!
