Depending on the circumstances behind making up the name. If it is to honor I believe it's ok. I had a friend named Mary and her mom (Eve) passed away shortly befor eshe gave birth and her daughters name is Marieve. As long as you like it and you don't have a problem with people asking how to spell it all the time. As far as Co workers and friends I would still use it but everyone knows my name obsession. It's your child name he or she what you feel like.

My questioN is what is a girly southern middle names to go with the first names Alana and Davina and are Ian, Elaina, and Alana a good sib set? Or Ian, Elaina and Davina?

Elaina and Alana are basically different spellings of the same name, with a minor change in the middle syllable. They are far, far too close for sisters imo. Davina is cute with it, though.

Does Ellery-Rose Galilea Flow?

The /r/s in Ellery and Rose run together a little bit, but it's not that bad. I think it flows okay.

Would the sib set Finland (B) nn Fin and Holland (G) nn Holly be too corny? Is it best left as a gp set?

Would the sib set Finland ( B) nn Fin and Holland (G) nn Holly be too corny? Is it best left as a gp set?

I wouldn't use it personally, and I do think it's a little bit cheesy and a very obvious theme to use. Finn and Holly make a cute sibset on their own, so if you wanted to use them I'd either just use them as they are, or maybe use one of the place names and another name (for example Holland and Finley/Hollis and Finland). Another thing to think about is if you had a third child what would you name them? Scotland, Ireland, Thailand, etc all fit the theme you have going, and if it was me then using a name that didn't end with land would bug me a lot.

Long story short: I think the names are fine on their own, but together they are just a bit much for me.

I think it's cute but I'm not much for heavy themed sibsets. Finn/Fin and Holly/Hollis is cute but Finland and Holland are good names but not together (:

Thank you guys for your thoughts!

Mary-Pearl with nn Mamie works great! I'm not a personal fan of Mamie, but it works just fine as the nn :)

Unevensomewhere --
Maybe Charlie. I actually surprise myself with this answer, but Ive been reading a book series where a girl with name Charlene has the nn Charlie, and it's been growing on me I guess ;)

Thoughts on Wilson nn Wil?

Does Wilson work as a sib to Wiley/Wilder?

It actually honors a couple people I can't really honor any other way.

Wilson is too close to Wiley/Wilder, sorry! Maybe if either Wilson or Wiley/Wilder was in the middle name spot (ie. Wilson Alexander and John Wilder)it would work. It's a nice name though. I have a cousin named Wilson.

I agree with Addy, it's way too close for me since they share the first three letters. I also agree that it wouldn't be as bad if one was a fn and one was a mn.

Does Grey work as a mn for a girl? I adore it in this spot, and while I do like it for boys it just feels more right as a girls mn to me. It honors my boyfriend, which is one reason I love it.

I think it works well. I especially like the spelling with the "e" as it softens it for a girl. Of course, even better that it honors!

I love Grey as an mn for girls, especially as a balance to a girly first name (ie Evangeline Grey).

Hamish? Hmmm...not sure its ready for a full blown comeback. Reminds me of radish or ham. And wouldnt want any ridicule to come to a child.
