Will and Noor have been kept pretty busy often the past five years! With so many grandchildren and great grand children, they put a lot of love and time into building a relationship with each and spending time together. Will's mother broke her hip, leading to Will and Noor helping care for her and assist his dad with additional labor due to his mother needing time to heal.
Isabella and Tafari are so proud of how much their children have grown! They have their house to themselves, as Coco and Liam have moved out to their own apartments. Isa and Tafari have been tending to their garden, spending time together, and saving up for a vacation together.
Coco has graduated from university with a degree in mathematics. She found a job as an actuary, where she measured, managed, and mitigated financial risks and uncertainties. It was a demanding job but she admittedly valued the paycheck that came with it especially. She met her boyfriend, Xan, on an online dating website. They have been casually dating lately but Coco hasn't been interested in anything too serious yet.
Liam is nearing the end of his university days, studying social work. He looks forward to working in an elementary school environment, assessing childrens needs and reaching out with resources when needed. When he originally met Caius, his boyfriend, it had been at a gay bar with no intentions of anything serious. They had met up occasionally at first, being intrinsically attracted to one another. Eventually they realized how frequently they thought of one another and wanted more. Now they have been dating a couple years and have enjoyed their time together. Caius had originally served in the military but was honorably discharged due to a a disabling event. They are currently living with Liam, with disability payments helping them survive their day to day. They are currently not working as managing their health has been a full time commitment.
Liv loved her degree as a bio-statistician but decided to work part time so she could devote more time to her family. It was fulfilling to continue her work and she was glad her job was accommodating to her reducing her hours. Sahil has continued to work as much as possible to help his patients needs being met. Liv and Sahil are so proud of how their kids lives have progressed! The oldest kids all having begun their adult lives and the youngest children enjoying their childhood. Sammy and Autumn still enjoy the swim team. Matt and Sophie joined a dancing class while Gabby plays soccer.
Layla and Landon had an off and on relationship throughout high school. Layla was on the schools swim team while Landon was on the basketball team, so they both found themselves pretty busy most of the time. They frequented the same friend groups, though. One evening, they had hooked up at a party and Layla had forgotten to take her birth control pill on time as she was very hung over the next morning. She was scared, as she was so young and unsure of her future. Landon was supportive of her decision. Layla was only 16 when her son arrived, with much support of her parents. Layla loved the name Rajah, which Landon agreed was pretty cool. Landon wanted to use Nicholas as the middle, to honor his grandpa. Layla decided to home school after Rajah's birth and completed her high school degree through an accelerated program. After graduating, Layla got an associates in nursing and began her career as a home health nurse. After graduating, Landon got his certifications as a welder. He worked his butt off, both during his main hours on the job and getting contract work on the side, he did his best to provide for his child and his childs mother. During high school, they had both committed themselves to Rajah and finishing high school. After high school, Layla had stayed home with her mum while studying for her nursing associates. Landon had been away for a while whilst learning his trade, but not long after he came back, he and Layla began spending more time together. When they discovered they were pregnant again, Landon proposed and Layla accepted! They had been in love with one another for a while but afraid to rock the boat with how well coparenting was going. They had an intimate wedding mid way through the pregnancy. They were so excited to welcome little Jewel to the family!
Padma had always had a passion for traveling. When in high school, Padma had gotten a job and dedicated her earnings to future travel potential. Her work time had cut a bit when her twin had birthed her nephew, Rajah, as she spent time supporting and loving on the little guy of course! By the time Padma had graduated, she had a decent amount saved up and ready for a trip! Padma got involved with WWOOF, a program that promotes ecological farming and sustainable lifestyles around the world. Padma had signed up to work in many places, having her room and board covered as she worked on the farms, then visiting local attractions on her off time. Padma had stayed in Malawi, Nicaragua, Myanmar, New Zealand, Spain, France, Kazakhstan... while in New Zealand, Padma met a fellow WWOOF-er, Queenie. Queenie had joined WWOOF out of a passion for environmental changes, and this had been her first trip. Padma and Queenie had both shared much in common and felt so connected that they arranged their next WWOOF trips together. Queenie only had one living family member, her sister Nakia. They talked daily, even if only short text conversations, and we're best friends type of sisters. Padma and Queenie had traveled back to Queenie's home town to be with Nakia for the birth of her daughter. A few days after birthing, however, Nakia tragically passed away due to complications after the birth. Queenie and Padma had been pretty serious together for the past couple of years at this point. Queenie was without a doubt adopting her niece to raise as her own. Padma let Queenie know she was committed to both her and Athena, and asked Queenie if she'd like to move closer to Padma's family so they could help support them. Queenie enthusiastically agreed and both she and Padma were able to be put on Athena's birth certificate as her parents. They had moved in with Padma's parents while they grieved, adjusted to unexpected parenthood, and figured out what their next steps would be.
Kian has gone off to university! He hasn't declared a major yet, as there are a few options he's interested in, but figures he can get the required courses begun while he decides. He's casually dating a guy named Shai, whom he met at a party in his dorm.
Ben and Saoirse are taking in every moment of parenthood they can. They've been proud of the man Aiden is growing to be and cherishing the moments that they have with Charlie and Theo.
Aiden has shown to be incredibly talented at hockey. He had been scouted during high school and offered a position after he turned 18 to begin playing pro. Aiden decided to also take some university courses online while he trained in hockey, though only part time as his time was very much consumed with practice, games, and travel. Aiden met his girlfriend, Ava, at a party after a game. They have been casually dating, as they are both pretty busy due to responsibilities and commitments.
Chris and Hannah have been doing well. Life was uneventful in the good sort of way. They have been spending more time with family since Violet began her adult life out of the house. Goodness knows their nieces, nephews, etc have been pretty overwhelmed with their life events! They've been happy to help out with little Rajah, Jewel, Athena, Ry, Luna, and Mason!
Violet still loved gymnastics. She wasn't sure where she wanted to go in life, as she didn't feel gymnastics was necessarily her path. When she joined some friends to watch a Cirque du Soleil performance, she knew from that moment that she this was her dream. She was able to send an application in with a video showing her talents and was accepted! She met her boyfriend, Lip, as a fellow performance artist in the show.
Miguel and Vivi were kept busy lately, as Vivi's mother had some health scares. Having four teenagers certainly makes a parents job demanding as well. Thankfully, the kids all worked together when their abuela's health had declines. Jaz and Ru got their drivers licenses and were able to help with driving their siblings and such around.
Carolina and Penny were doing well. They had their hands full when Ari got pregnant while still in high school but supported her throughout. Ari and Jas met one another through her job. Ari has gotten an IUD placed when she decided she wanted to be sexually active as a teenager. She hadn't realized it has shifted and fell pregnant unexpectedly. While she and Jasper liked one another, they hadn't wanted to be in a serious committed relationship to one another at this point. Thankfully Jasper was a decent kid and put his time and money into supporting Ari and Ry. They were relatively mature about caring for their son together whilst trying to plan their futures. They still casually hooked up together whilst coparenting. Ari and Jasper decided to use condoms but hadn't been aware that oil based lubricants could reduce efficacy, which resulted in another pregnancy not long after Ry was born. They had been stunned to find it was twins. Ari and Jasper were able to finish their high school diplomas. Ari decided to wait on pursuing higher education as she was overwhelmed with the responsibilities as is. Jasper got a job in construction, which lended to decent financial support.
Hazel and and Amelia's relationship is going smoothly. The kids were enjoying a variety of activitites. Life is going well.
