The only other name in the running was Laura Elizabeth, which I would have LOVED. I hate the name Jenna.
If I was a boy I was going to be Christopher Alan or Joshua Albert, both of which I would have liked.
Anything but Jenna!

Zay-da? Mom, you have a WEIRD name!!!
I do not have a weird name! Just say it like you think it is. 99% of the time I'll understand you. Unless you call me Zada like my boss did for 2 years before realizing that was not my name.

I hated it! I used to underline the y in Zayda whenever I'd send her and email. And she still did not understand my subtle hints.

Sorry... I'm grabbing my ribs over here.. that's so funny!
But I kinda get you, our sales manager (and friend) calls me something like "DEZY"; I swear, mind the "Z" sound. I actually don't mind, 'cos he has this sourthen Spanish accent and he makes it sound kinda cute.
BUT, there is also this BUNCH of people who call me "Dizzy", and that's VERY annoying. I also get called Daisy and Daysi on emails, but's that's quite understandable.
So, you see, why I love classic names. You can't go wrong on those ones, unless you're ... well, you know.

I don't mind my name, just a little common. Marie is a filler, but my mom and great-grandma had it as their middle names, so i guess it has meaning behind it.
The only names i know of if i was going to be a girl were:
Abigail Elizabeth- i love this, i want to use it for my own little girl. (if i have one)my dad shot this one down.
Katie Jean- Jean after my moms grandma (Beverly Jean) who raised her, and her dad's mom was Katie, who died shortly before i was born. I think the name sounds to red-necky
i know there were others, but i'm not sure what they were.

My mother had a dream while she was pregnant that the baby was a girl and she named her Sarah. When she found out I was a girl, she kept the idea. Jane is her middle name.
She hadnt thought of any others for me but in highschool she wanted three daughters Billie Jo Bobbie Jo Bettie Jo
I would have been Bobbie Jo...uck!
Also she wanted three daughters Hope Faith and Joy. I would have been Faith. Not too bad, I've never met a Faith before.

almost named Miranda, after a character in a movie my mom loved. If I was a boy, I would have been named Charlie, with either a MN of Melvin or Samuel. My grandfathers name was Charlie Samuel, and my fathers name is Samuel Melvin. I love the idea, and am throwing around the idea of a Charlie MN.

My parents had a bunch of names picked out for me up until my mom was about 30 wks along but then one of her really good friends died and so she decided to name me after her. Her name was Elise Leighton however we already had a "Lise" in the family so my mom took the name Leighton instead. It worked out at the time since she didn't know my sex and Leighton is a unisex name.
Before that my names might have been:
Girl:
Lianna
Lydia
Lorea
Leah
Letitia
Boy:
Lachlan
Leland
Louis
Lucius

I was almost:
Constantina Marie
Marie-Claire Evelynn
Rayna Marie
Louisa Claire
Grace Makayla
Jordyn Kimber
It was between Ava Marie (Mom's choice) and Marie-Claire Evelynn (Dad's Choice) but I was premie and my dad was away on buisness, so my mom quickly put Ava Marie on the birth certificate. When by dad came home he said I looked kind of like an Ava anyway, so he wasn't too mad. He wanted me to name my first daughter Marie-Claire though. If I was a boy i think I would've been Michael Jonathan or Taylor Ryan.
For my daughters, Roxi as Jasper, it was a little bit simpler.
John, husband number one, didn't want any girls, only boys, so he said I could name Roxi anything. It was between Roxanna Leigh and Isabella Grace, but Roxanna won out in the end.
Some of you know Jasper's name story already; Roxi and I read twilight together and she fell in love with the name Jasper. I had originally been thinking Raegan Laurie for a girl and Ryan Lord for a boy, by Roxi talked me into Jasper and Jakob, husband number two, picked Lilianna.

My parents names were Kirk Alan & Amy Christine.
When my parents found out they were preggers my dad decided if I was a boy then I was gonna be Kirk Jr. (Ewww)
So my mom said "If Kirk gets a Jr. then I want a Jr. Amy!"
So I became Jamie. They got Sue from my dad's 2 younger sisters (Sherri Sue & Melody Sue)
I'm glad I was a girl... I'm not the biggest fan of my name but oh well!
Naming my 2 children took more time.
The first hsband and I had Aryanna Jolene Marie ("Anna" after my great-gramma, "Jolene" after his sister and my aunt, & "Marie" after my other great-gramma) picked out before we even knew we were having a girl. We couldn't pick a boys name to save our lives.
Then there's my son Lucas Ray
He was supposed to be Dustin Ray Jr., Skyler, Phenoix (idk what I was thinking), Cooper, or Dennis.
I'm happy he's Lucas tho... he fits a Lucas. I did really like Cooper tho
