Kara Lily Hartmann (16) is Leslie's little sister. Kara was an accident and is actually Leslie's daughter, though only Leslie, Kara, and their parents know that. Kara loves singing and has since she was a little girl. Whenever she gets the chance, she sings. She sings in class, making dinner, everywhere. She is also quite a talented cook. Though she doesn't care much, her popularity recently skyrocketed due to her romantic relationship with the star quarterback of her school's football team.

Jeriah Spencer Colt [16] is the best friend of Kara since the third grade. He really looks out for her like a sister, and is getting suspicious about her dating the football player. He feels that he is just using Kara's sweet innocence for his benefit, and has warned her about his concern but it has only created more distance between them lately.

Xavier James Sandberg (6) is Jeriah's step-brother. Xavier has high-functioning autism as well as a speech problem that results in others not being able to understand him at times; however Jeriah tends to almost always understand him as the two are very close. He has shown a large interest in basketball and wants to become a professional basketball player when he grows up. He and Jeriah sometimes play together.

Mara Hayden Castle (6) is the only person Xavier's age that understands him. Mara lives playing pretend with Xavier on the playground and even though other people make fun of them, she stands by Xavier.

Alexandra Rosetta Castle (27) is Mara's mother. She is a well-known fantasy author. The main character of her books is a teenage princess, who has a younger sister that is based on Mara.

Scott Laurence Pope "Scotty" (11) is Alexandra's nephew and Mara's cousin. He is a young artist who wants to become a film-maker. He's already made a few amateur short films with his friends.

Roslyn Marlene Pope [64] and Susannah Lucille Pope [29] are the mother and grandmother of Scotty Pope, The sister and mother of Alexandra Castle (nee Pope), the aunt and grandmother of Mara Castle. When Susannah was eighteen she got pregnant from a one night stand and ended up having Scott. That experience made her and Roslyn much closer. Susannah and Scotty still live with Roslyn and her husband. Though, Susannah has just gotten enough money together to put a down payment on a house and she and Scotty will be moving two towns over to a nice two bedroom home. Susannah can do this thanks to the job she got two years ago and works now, having graduated from college finally three years ago. She's hoping to provide a better life for Scotty and herself, in addition she's recently started dating again. Roslyn is a mother of five children including Susannah and Alexandra who are her youngest children. She's been a stay-home mother her entire life and had been married to her husband for forty-five years happily. She adores being a grandmother and including Scotty and Mara she has seven grandchildren.

Natalie Jane Pope (32) is the daughter of Roslyn and sister of Susannah and Alexandra. Natalie was adopted when she was six months old. When she was younger, she used to feel self-conscious because she didn't look like her family. She has gotten over it since, especially because she has such a great family. Natalie is a cop and loves her job, she is about to get promoted to the FBI. She has seen some pretty disturbing stuff, but nothing has ever fazed her, except when she and her boyfriend (also a police officer, they broke the "no in-department relationships" rule) were held captive and she was beat up and her boyfriend nearly killed. Natalie is pregnant and questions what kind of world she is bringing her daughter (they just found out, she's 18 weeks) into.

Madisyn Harlowe Pope & Hadley Marian Pope [19] are twin sisters, and nieces of Natalie, Alexandra, and Susannah, and grandaughters of Roslyn via her oldest son. Their father is the oldest in the family, and so are they. They graduated a year ago from high school and have already completed a year at university. Madisyn is a musician while Hadley is into photography. Madisyn is single, but crushing hard on one of the boys in the marching band, and Hadley is single and lovin it.

Jeremy Benjamin Pope [39] is the father of Madisyn and Hadley, the brother of Natalie, Alexandra, and Susannah, and the son of Roslyn. He's the oldest child and the only boy in his family. Growing up, he was always very protective of his little sisters, and this protectiveness extended to his children. He worries a lot about Madisyn and Hadley being away at university. Jeremy works as an architect. He is married and has two children younger than Madisyn and Hadley.

Bennett Jeremiah Pope [14] is the youngest son of Jeremy Pope and his wife, the younger brother of Madisyn, Hadley and another brother. He is also the grandson of Roslyn Pope and her husband, the nephew of another sister of his father, Natalie Pope, Susannah Pope and Alexandra Castle. He's also the cousin of Scotty Pope, Mara Castle, a child of the eldest sister and the soon to be daughter of his aunt Natalie Pope. Bennett was named after his father and is actually a lot like him. He even looks quite a lot like him. He's also got his father's quiet demeanor, but is fiercely protective of Madisyn and Hadley despite being their younger brother, this tended to embarrass the twins a lot and often around their friends before they moved away to university.  In his free time, Bennett is a practicing fencer and takes part in his school's swim team as well. His social life is good despite not being a part of the popular crowd, though not much of a nerd either. Bennett misses his sisters since they left and wants them to come home soon.

Timothy Micah Pope (15) is the son of Jeremy and his wife, younger brother to Madisyn and Hadley and older brother to Bennett. He's bullied for being short, shorter than Bennett actually, and for looking "ugly", as those cheerleaders and jocks always assume. He's actually rather intelligent, but the bullying goes to his head and he ends up not doing well. His teachers are worried about him.

Morgan Darius Jones {28} is Timothy Pope's art teacher. He sees that Timothy is struggling, and he tries to help him however he can. He first noticed it when Timothy turned in a drawing of a black sheet of paper, with just a stick figure with X's for eyes in red in the center. He knew something was up, and he has gotten Timothy to open up some about the bullying. At home, Morgan has a lovely wife and one child.

Jocelyn Rosalie Jones [28] is Morgan's wife and the mother of one child. Morgan and Jocelyn met in art school, and bonded over their mutual love of cubism and the Rolling Stones. Jocelyn is a professional artist and designer. She makes most of her own clothes and jewelry, and is always getting complimented on her funky, eclectic style. Jocelyn recently had an exhibition of her sculpture at a big city art gallery. She and Morgan are really excited, and are considering moving to the big city soon. Morgan doesn't is hesitant, because of the connections that he has with his students.

Damon Russell Hansen [20] is the younger brother of Jocelyn Jones, the brother-in-law of Morgan Jones and the Uncle of their one month old baby. Damon and Jocelyn also have two other siblings ages 25 and 22. All of their middle names start with the letter R which is a family tradition. Damon thinks Morgan is a really cool guy and approves of him and his sister, plus they made an adorable baby that he makes money babysitting, so it's a win win for him. Damon himself lives in the big city where he is attending the same college as Madisyn and Hadley Pope. He thinks Hadley Pope is really pretty and is thinking of asking her out, the only issue is that he has a girlfriend already, but they've been having some issues and Damon isn't so sure about the relationship anymore. Similar to his artsy sister, Damon is a Film Studies and Music double major. He wants to score movies when he gets older.

Diana Kathryn Lee // "Daisy Ryn" {20} is a popular up-and-coming singer. She is one of Damon's best friends, and she is trying to help him get a leg up in Hollywood as she is famous there herself. At fourteen, she selected the stage name Daisy Ryn because Diana Lee just wasn't going to make the cut. The only people that don't call her Daisy are her parents. She is very popular among teenage boys and girls alike.

Nahla Roz Yesseni [12] is one of Daisy Ryn's hugest fans. She has lived in Montana, in a small isolated town her whole life. She is spunky and quite well known for her beautiful voice.  She loves singing and looks up to Daisy as an idol. She wants to be just like her. She recently started taking lessons, and has been the official national anthem singer at football games. She is an only child, and her parents are both musicians. Her mother is the choir teacher in the middle school, and her father is the university band professor.

Phaedra Yasmina Yesseni [37] is Nahla's mother. She has loved music all her life, and is very happy that her love of music passed to her only child, Nahla. She is very proud that Nahla is being recognized for her beautiful voice and singing the national anthem at local football games. Phaedra doesn't think that Nahla's talent should be "wasted" on pop music, and wants her daughter to go to Julliard and study classical vocals. Phaedra is married to a university band professor.

Farida Greer "Farah" Yesseni {7} is the youngest child of Phaedra and her husband, the sister of Nahla. She was a surprise to her parents, and she didn't get much attention when she was little because her parents are so consumed with work. Now, she has picked up ballet and is starting the cello, so her parents spend a lot of time fostering her talent.
