So, we're getting floored by Hurricane Irene and it's giving me a lot of bored free time and I was thinking of the name, Storm for a boy and maybe Stormy/Stormie for a girl?

Would Storm/Stormie be better as a fn or mn?

Also, mn/fn suggestions on both would be great!

I think Storm is absolutely awesome for a boy..

If I was brave enough, I would use it for sure. I think it's better as a first name, if your going to use it anyway :)
I know for a fact, that it is getting more and more popular, outside of the US.

However, it is hard finding a great middle name, because of the strong M ending.

I don't like Stormy for a girl, though. It's a little too nicknamey for my taste, but on the other hand Storm is also kinda out there :)

Hope your okay! <3
My Family lives in New York City and they are all being told to evacuate. Their in New Jersey now.

Storm is alright for a boy.
Not my style, but sounds very handsome and strong. :)
I would use it as a middle name...

Ew, I heard NC isn't having the greatest time with Irene.. :L I am freaking out cause no one will tell me anything about NH and all so I can't know what to expect D:

But anyways, Storm would work nicely for a boy! Its powerful and strong and handsome and manly! :) And I'd like it as either a fn or a mn! Which is odd cause I prefer 'creative' names as middle names, but this feels like it could age <3

As for Stormy/Stormie... definite no. Sounds very nick namey, and idk... just not nice like Storm on a boy.

Hope this helps!

Irene is actually supposed to be completely gone from NC by late tomorrow afternoon. It's not going to be pretty up there either. My prayers are with your family!!

Thanks for your input! (:

Yeah, there are powerlines and flooding everywhere. I live in the east, so it's horrible here. Definately calming down though. For the whole Northeast, right now they are just saying to use your best instincts for right now. If you feel that you need to leave, then do it ASAP! It's only a category 1, but it's so wide across and moving really slow. From my experience so far, I'm saying just expect A LOT of rain and A LOT of wind and many power outages. Good luck; I'll be praying for you and your family!!

Thanks for your input! I'm changing my mind on Stormy, lol. Too nicknamey sounding for a first name.

I actually only know 2 people with the name/mn Storm and both are girls. One was in my college class and went by Stormie (she's about 27?) and the other girl is Haley Storm. And one of her other friends is also Haley Storm who actually goes by Storm (so I guess I technically know 3 storms).

Yeah.. I haven't had any contact with them since the storm hit.. but I didn't hear of any injuries.
It was a really small storm. Here we get category six cyclones.
But it's great it was small because it could have caused ALOT more damage then it did.
I think they took heaps of precautions & it is better to be safe then sorry.
I dont live in America. I live in Australia. My Aunty, Uncle and Cousins live their. So does my Mum's friend.
But, thank you. ♥ ♥
Hope your doing well. :)

Ehh, I'm sorry about all the damage your suffering down there! D: Must be so terrible! </3 Yeah, yesterday we got some showers... like, a few minutes of full on rain then drizzles the rest of the day... and fairly windy :) So we were very fortunate <3 I'll keep all of North Carolina and all in my thoughts!! <3

And your welcome! Glad to help :)

A friend of mine had a dog named Stormy (female)...I also knew one girl in highschool named Stormy, she was a couple years older than me...her full name was awful...Stormy Weathers !!!

I can't really picture Storm/Stormy on a boy.
