We are thinking of naming our daughter Finn but are a little hesitant because it is a popular boys name. She will have a girly middle name. What do you think?

I am personally not a fan of it, but to each their own! :)

If you are hesitant about Finn on a girl, I would even recommend Finley nick name Finn. Finley has been increasing in numbers for girls, so it wouldn't be entirely unusual- if unusual at all.

Would you like some middle name suggestions for Finn or Finley? I hope this helps!!

IMO Finn is totally a boys name, but I agree with Remy on Finley. Finley is more girly.

I have to agree. Finn on a girl would just create gender confusion. Maybe you could spell Finley like Finleigh to make it look more feminine?

Finn is admittedly one of my guilty pleasure names. I like it for a girl but wouldn't name my daughter that. To me it just seems, well, wrong to give a girl a male name. How about Finnley? At least the -lee sound makes it sound a tad girlier.....

Also, what is your surname? What middle name are you going to give her? That will ultimately result in more help for you.

Maybe look at it this way: If you are worried at all about whether or not it will cause problems for her, rethink. Choose something similar. Or in a case like this, save the name for a possible boy.

Other F names:

Fabiana
Fionna
Faye
Freesia
Fayanna
Fianna

Yeah, Finn is all boy to me, though as people have pointed out, Finley (much to my chagrin because I adore for a boy) is really rising in popularity for girls, much like Avery and Emery. So I'd say name her Finley and the nn Finn would come very naturally out of that if you wanted to call her that (though I still think calling her only Finn is too masculine)
