So my boyfriend told me last month that I cannot use the name James anywhere in our future childrens' names because of it being an exs middle name. Yesterday while we were on the subject he said that he wants to use James as a first name and only a first name. Since I'd be using it to honor my uncle (but can't use it as a middle name) I figured, "sure why not?" and then remembered why I had it as a middle name only. I can think of no good middle names for James.

Right now I have:

James Oliver: Love, until I put it with my bf's last name, Baker. Then I'm not sure that I'm feeling all the -er's.

James William: Two birds with one stone. My uncle and my father.

James Liam: Not sure, I love Liam but I don't like the choppiness of two one syllable names.

James Anthony: It's not bad. In fact, I rather like it. Anthony is both Martin and his grandfather's middle name and it lets him (sort of) name a kid after a kid after a family member. Martin likes it too, however he's pushing for his only choice.

Martin has:

James Eric: Eric is his dad's middle name and he wants some part of his dad's name in one of his kids' names. I still don't like the choppiness.

So, opinions/suggestions/comments/whatever. Any feedback is appreciated. We're still years away from having kids so names to us are an amusing topic.

First of all, I love the name James!

James Oliver: I like this one. It's traditional and classic. It reminds me of Jamie Oliver, though.

James William: Very traditional and nice.

James Liam: I agree, this one is a bit choppy.

James Anthony: I'm not a fan of Anthony, but the name flows pretty well and is uncommon. Nice!

James Eric: I don't think it's that choppy. You could always do James Edward, which is close-ish to Eric.

Someone recently suggested James Bennett to me... I think that's really nice... maybe it would work for you.
Good luck!

James is like a family name in my family! My grandaddy and father are both James Lloyd( one Sr and one Jr) and my brother's name is James Calhoun. I was going to use James as Aasyn's middle name but everyone automatically started calling him AJ ( I can not stand that nickname. Idk why, I just cant), so I changed his middle name to Giovanni, which is Italian for James :)

I really love James Anthony out of your list. I also like James William and James Eric as well.

James is kind of a family name for me too. Except it's everyone's middle name. My uncle and my cousins have it as their middle name. And Martin's essentially left me with a choice between James and Chad. And James is gonna win every time in my book.
I'm liking James Eric the more I say/hear it and it honors his father without using Chad. James William & James Liam were vetoed because it's another name involving my dad.

I like:

James Martin
James Alexander
James Elijah
James Israel
James Rylan

Thanks for the suggestions/opinions.

James William: Very handsome :)

James Liam: Love both names, but they sadly dont flow too well together.

James Anthony: Cute! Flow's nicely.

James Eric: Has a nice ring to it ! Lovely name.
