After the birth of the twins, I decided to take some time off of work.
I loved my job, but I knew the children would only be this young once, and wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately, that was not going to be as easy as I'd planned.
One Friday morning, around 8 months after the twins were born, I answered a knock on the door.
The lady, who informed me she was a social worker, had just come from my sister, (#SISFN) (#SISMN)'s house, and that she had deemed unable to care for her children.
I was shocked. My sister had ran away from home, shortly after we had moved to Seattle.
Angry at our parents for forcing her to move, she had never contact us, and although I tried to find her when our parents had died, I had no luck.
The social worked told me that my sister had named me as next of kin, but that if I didn't want to take the children in, they'd be put into foster care, and probably split up.
"Of course I'll take them." Were the first words out of my mouth, and my husband got the shock of his life when he came home that night, and discovered he was the father of another (#Roll) children!
#ACFN #ACMN, #ACFN #ACMN and #ACFN #ACMN were legally adopted a year later.

When I was 14, I got very drunk at a party and slept with my best friends elder brother.
He refused to have anything to do with me or the baby, and so did his sister.
Nine months later, I gave birth to a boy who I named Rome Charles.
Following the birth, my family and I moved to Seattle for my fathers work, and I started at the local school.
I met a guy named Blake Miles Tatum. His favourite subject was french, and he wanted to be a french teacher.
He was quite shocked at the fact I had a child, but was a natural, and they got on very well from the start.
After we graduated, we both decided to go to Seattle University to stay near to our families.
Just before we started our second year, I discovered I was pregnant with a girl.
For a short time, we considered abortion and adoption, but with the support of our families, and promises of help, Gabrielle Sage was/were born six months later.
Despite the age difference, our children got on fantastically and our parents were a great help.
Soon after graduation, I discovered I was pregnant again! We were told I was expecting boy/girl twins. Sadly, our joy was short lived.
One Saturday afternoon, 7 months into my pregnancy, my parents, William and Kathleen were involved in an accident.
My father suffered a heart attack whilst driving and crashed the car. They'd both died on impact.
The twins were born at 29 weeks, and although they were small, they were perfectly healthy.
We decided to name them Asher Liam and Ella Katherine in honour of my parents.
