So, following a tradition, we headed out to the park Sunday with the whole crew. Meaning: Me (Shawn), my pregnant girlfriend(Corinne), my best friend (Chris), my other best friend (Mason), my other best friend (Emmerson), Emmerson's wife (Clara), Their three year old (Micah), their one year old (Aria), my older sister (Samantha), her wife (Katrina), their four year old adopted son (Keyton; he's japanese), their eighteen month old adopted daughter (Brynnleigh), my other sister (Sarah), her wife (Maci), their three year old adopted son (D'Mitry; he's Russian), their three month old adopted son (Nikkolai; he's Russian also, but they aren't related), my younger brother (Shane), his boyfriend (Lucas), and lastly my younger brother (Sebastian).

Upon arrival, the older kids ran off and started playing and us parents/friends of parents sat down in the grass with the babies (Brynnleigh, Aria, and Nikkolai). We started talking to a couple other parents. They pointed out their kids. One women's kids were named Brittany, Madison, Emily, and Seth. Another's were something like Jordan and Markus (both boys). Well, we told them our groups' kids' names. Keyton, D'Mitry, Micah, Brynnleigh, Aria, Nikkolai, and baby boy Paris. Micah and Aria were the only names that didn't get disgusted looks. Most were okay with Keyton and Brynnleigh until we told them how they were spelled. See, the thing is, D'Mitry, Nikkolai, and Brynnleigh are the names their original parents gave them. It was their moms' choice not to change it because as Sam and Katrina found out with Keyton (once named Keiy Tu Sun Le) it sucks trying to change the name of a kid you adopted. They chose the name Keyton Lee because it was the closest english name they could find to his original name. And Paris is my middle name and Corinne is set on naming our son that. It was originally a masculine name... it just became more feminine over the years.

So really, are Keyton, D'Mitry, Micah, Brynnleigh, Aria, Nikkolai, and Paris truelly horrible names?

I think there all beautiful names, and different, that's the best part! I especially love Brynnleigh and Micah.

I love Paris for a boy! I've only knew two Paris' one was a boy(probably in his early 20's) and a girl(16/17ish) but love it for a boy! As for the other names I really like most of them, Brynnleigh and Keyton are not really my style but they are cute.

I love those names! Keyton is a name I've never heard before, but love. Nikkolai, D'Mitry, Aria and Paris are all names I have a soft spot for, but I think Paris is better on a boy than a girl. Micah has always been on my list of options, and while Brynnleigh isn't my style, it's a truely adorable name!

I'd just ignore those people. I don't even think some of the names are unusual, considering some I've heard recently. Different, yes, but unusual enough to get an odd look? Not at all.

Keyton, D'Mitry, Micah, Brynnleigh, Aria, Nikkolai, and Paris

I really like the name Nikkolai, hear it a lot in my neighbourhood. I think Luka and Nikkolai are the most popuar names at my son's school!
Keyton sounds fine to me, like it's one I'd avoid cos it sounds modern and trendy lol. Not odd or anything.
D'Mitry, I admit I dislike the spelling but whatever, it's a nice solid name, and wouldn't really think twice about it.
Micah sounds again, trendy and something I'd avoid because I hear it a lot.
Aria I've never heard I don't think outside of music but doesn't sound odd at all, just likea variant y'know?
Paris...yeah not a fan, but only because I think of Paris Hilton and not into her. And, it's one of those names you don't know boy/girl when you hear it and those aren't my style. But agian, doesn't sound ODD.

I love the name Keyton  Micah & Nikkolai are really sweet too.
Paris is used on a girl more commonly, but is also used on a boy.. it isn't at all unusual though.
I dont think they are horrible at all, I just think that woman must have the plainest taste in names EVER.

Keyton isn't bad, but it's not my style.

I like the NAME, but I don't like the spelling of D'Mitry at all. Dimitri is very handsome though.

I like Brynn, but not Brynnleigh.

I absolutely love Aria!

I prefer Nikolai, but it's still a strong and handsome name.

I don't like Paris, sorry. It's just not my style.

I think it's kind of rude though to show that you hate someone's name in public! They should have just smiled and said something polite.

I love Aria and Micah; they go really well together. And I think it's cool to see Paris on a boy. Keyton's not really my style but it's neat, especially with the story behind it. Nikkolai isn't my personal favorite, but it's a decent name and there's not really one "correct" spelling for it. D'Mitry and Brynnleigh, I like the names but not the spellings so much. Though I can see where you'd want to just keep their original names - I've heard from friends who adopted and changed the names that the process is a real pain in the rear. I don't think any of these are horrible, and I think it's really rude of people to openly show disgust at the names of already born children!

I think its very honorable that your siblings and their spouses chose to keep the original names of their children.
I am sure you just had the unfortunate luck to speak with close-minded "whatever is on the top 50 list namers"
 I don't mind the names!
