Here's a couple names on my list that I'm not sure about using.
Curious what others would think.

Antigone: I hate that it's spelled Anti-gone but I honestly love the name itself. Potential middle name or too much?
Reed: I prefer this spelling to Reid but, I know someone with the last name...does it seem like honoring?
Sutton: Love this as a boy's middle but again, know someone with the last name.
Jonas: I love this name and I love the connection to my favorite book 'The Giver' but, as a teen I was a Jonas Brothers fan so I'm afraid people who know that would assume that's why. Use anyway? More than likely a middle
Jesse: An old crush (never dated) from high school, not at all in my life anymore. Not too many people know about him. But I think a part of me would feel guilty. Or is it okay?
Bryce: Online relationship from my teenage years that only 2 friends knew about, one who isn't in my life & the other is my best friend. Again, would feel guilty I think...not as much as Jesse though. It'd be in the middle name slot.
Gertrude/Gertie: I always ask about this one. I adore Gertie so much. I don't see girdle like most say. I want to love it but others keep bashing it/suggesting Trudy instead...which I don't want/like.
Daffodil/Daffy: The name itself is okay but I'm in love with the idea of Daffy. I know there are people who would make the Daffy Duck connection, which is male...but, I think Daffy sounds feminine and I think Looney Tunes isn't as popular now anyway. My dad is a Bugs Bunny fan and I had a Looney Tunes themed nursery as a kid, if that connection changes things.
Dorinda/Dory: I know Finding Nemo/Finding Dory is still new so I know that's where most would jump but, I do love Dory (the name and the character I guess haha! Ellen's great too!) and Dorinda is just the only 'long' name I'd be okay with it. Too soon though?
Whitfield: I want a boys name with Whit in it because I love the nickname. I have considered both Whitman (sounds best) and Whitlee (dad's middle is Lee) but have recently considered Whitfield. I've seen Whitaker around, I'm not sold on that one. Whitfield would be a play off the street my grandparents' house is on. They've had it since '72 and it's still in our family. My mom/aunts/uncles grew up on it as did a lot of my cousins and I was there for a bit myself. It's not exactly Whitfield but it's suuuper close!
Fallon Kate: Love this combo, but was told it's too similar to fornicate? I don't see it but...is it there? Or it is okay? Look for a different middle?
Carmello: I love the sound of this. Would have it as a boy's middle. It's kind of similar to someone I know's last name though. I also don't currently have a first name I love with it...I'm just not sure about letting it go. I don't think it's an actual name...or at least, not this spelling. I think it's originally spelled Carmelo but I like this one better.
Sailor: I already have Anchor on my list (and will be keeping it, I have no doubts about it anymore) but I've recently considered adding Sailor on my girl's list. Anchor is on my boy's and for a middle. Not sure where I'd put Sailor but, is it too much to have both?
Vivika: I believe the typical spelling is Vivica but I like it with a 'k' better because it reminds me of Annika which is another name I like a lot. Is the spelling too weird? If I didn't spell it this way, I wouldn't keep the name.
Tucker: Like some of the other names, I do know someone with this name. Wouldn't want to seem like I'm honoring them.

I think that's all.
Feel free to share you GP names as well and I'll help out if you need it! :)

Feel free to share you GP names as well and I'll help out if you need it! :)

Antigone ~ I think this is a nice name. Pn- an- ti-go-nee.  I think this perhaps would be a little to much for the first name spot as people may possibly get the pronunciation incorrect, but as a middle name i think it's a great idea!  I mean i would say to try ans spell it a little differently but i don't think it would very well work not with this name anyhow.

Reed~ I like this name.. but i like it the way you do not lol Reid, I don't think it would seem as though you were honouring, just simply that you like the name.

Sutton ~ I think this is doable as a first name and a middle too..

Jonas I like Jonas.. However i think of the brothers like you say... I would suggest maybe Jonah.. you still get 4 of the 5 letters :D But either first or middle i think.

Jesse ~ Love the name Jesse (was on my list for our little angel ✝) I don't think that you should feel guilty for liking the name Jesse.. My cousin whom i really dislike is named Jessica and goes by Jessie.. yet i still had the name on my list. It's anyone's name remember not just his so don't feel bad for wanting to use it.  I think its perfectly Okay to use it should you choose to :)

Bryce~ Avery welsh sounding name.. i think this would be more of a middle name spot as its a 1 syllable and more of a filler kind of name.. if you know what i mean. Example- Elijah Bryce..

Gertrude/Gertie ~ A very old name, I woudl think it would be okay.. However if you have people bashing then maybe if you feel they would continue put it in the middle spot and have a name in the front of it and then maybe that name and gertie would be a good nickname of sorts.

Daffodil/Daffy ~ Cute name.. I think Daffy is a cool connection- there is the name Dilly too that you could take from the name its cool and clever :D

Dorinda/Dory ~ I dont think there will be people making the connection to the movie as the name dory is for dorothea too.

Whitfield ~ I like it.. its a cool name. I would have suggested Whitley if you hadn't mentioned that you have already thought of that name.

Fallon Kate ~ I like this its a super cool and spunky combo,  and i didn't even think of the word fornicate, then again i wouldn't as i'm not american and we do not say that term in the u.k, unless you were to spell it Fallyn?  Other possible middles could be .. Fallon Rose, Fallon Paige, Fallon Lark, Fallon Lux, Fallon Lois, Fallon Jade, Fallon Sage, Fallon Aleah, Fallon Mae.

Only a few to help you out there.

Carmello ~ it is infact a boys name.. It is an alternate spelling of Carmelo (italian, Hebrew) tho i believe however can be spelt Karmello/Karmelo, It means  as a name for boys. The name Carmello means "orchard garden" I think its doable as a first name but if you have reserved it for a middle then it will flow well with any name

Sailor~  Hmm i dunno it might not be too much if you perhaps had a middle name theme or used anchor as a boys middle and sailor as a first or middle, lots of people have themes and yours is the sea. Alternatively you could possibly use Saylor with a 'y' instead of 'i' or Saylah. I do like Saylah tho as it lessons the harsh R on the end which could connect the 2.

Vivika~ No not weird..  i think Viveka would maybe look a bit better, as this has alot of 'ih' sound or maybe Vyveka?  failing that add a H on the end ;)

Tucker~  Tucker is nice.. but im not so keen, I had a headteacher who was named, Mr. Tucker and all the elder kids in primary used to say goodmorning mr. F***er, I dont like how it could be used as an insult rather than the actual name. Maybe more of a middle name spot on this one i think

Anyhow i hope that helped you out a little with you names xx

Antigone- Love this name! I could totally see it being used in the first name spot if you were brave, failing that it would be great as a middle name too!

Reed- I don't think it would come across as honouring, just that you like the name.
Sutton- I'm personally not very keen on it but I can see it being used in both spots without it seeming like you're honouring someone specifically.
Jonas- I like Jonas and think it would work well as both a first and middle! It doesn't scream Jonas Brothers to me.
Jesse- Like Jesse and think you could use it as a first or middle without feeling guilty.
Bryce- This feels more like a middle name and I would be reluctant to use it.
Gertrude/Gertie- Not really my style but Gertie is pretty cute!
Daffodil/Daffy- A little off the wall and I definitely make the connection to Daffy Duck, sorry!
Dorinda/Dory- Love Dorinda and think you could easily use Dory if you wanted to.
Whitfield- I think this works and it definitely would have a special meaning.
Fallon Kate- Not keen on Fallon but it flows well with Kate and I didn't pick up the reference until I really thought about it.
Carmello- It's a nice name but I prefer the spelling Carmelo.
Sailor- I like Sailor but I'm not sure whether it's too much with Anchor.
Vivika- Love Vivika! I prefer the spelling Viveka but it totally works!
Tucker- This doesn't really appeal to me but imo it's useable.

Antigone: She was the product of mother-son incest and hung herself, I'd be concerned about bullying
Reed: I prefer this spelling also
Sutton:
Jonas: this is a great biblical name, the Jonas brothers will be forgotten overtime
Jesse: I'm not a huge fan of this name and do you really want to think of unrequited love when you see your baby
Bryce: What does you bf think?
Gertrude/Gertie: i agree with Gertie over Trudy
Daffodil/Daffy: Daffodil is beautiful, what about dilly as a nickname instead? Daffy Duck is still really well known
Dorinda/Dory: I Think if the nickname wa Dori, this wouldn't be too soon at all
Whitfield: I love whit. Whitlee might be better for a girl though. Whitton?
Fallon Kate: I don't see fornicate at all
Carmello: Meh
Sailor: I love sailor for a Girl!!!
Vivika: It looks much better with the k, also good nicknames viv, vivi, Kiki
Tucker: If you like the name, I wouldn't worry if someone else feels honored

Thank you ladies for the positive feedback.
Wasn't expecting it honestly. Not this much at least. It is very appreciated.

Here's what I've decided on...
First name: Whitfield
Either: Antigone, Sutton, Jonas, Jesse, Gertrude, Daffodil, Dorinda, Sailor, Vivika/Viveka, Tucker
Middle names: Reed, Bryce, Carmello
Fallon Kate will remain on my list as is unless I fall in love with another combo, which I am open to.
Vivika is staying on my list but I have loved your suggestions of Viveka and will be deciding between those now! Glad I'm not the only one who prefers the K to the C.
And an update on Sailor: I am keeping it for now but no guarantee of usage. I have Ren for a boy on my list (first name) and Wren for a girl (middle name) but don't plan on using both. Sailor and Anchor will probably be the same.

Thank you so much!!!

Antigone - maybe as a middle name? I wouldn't personally use it as a first name personally.

Reed/ Reid - I like! It's actually fairly common as a first name. Use it if you like it!

Sutton is handsome. I don't think it'd be too honoring to use.

I honestly forgot about the Jonas brothers myself. I wouldn't connect them. But I'm also not super pop culture savvy so.

Jesse is nice. Use it! I imagine the name would fade from being an old crushes name and become your sons solely if you used it. It's a common boys name and all so I think usable.

Bryce isn't my style. But it's common enough. Shouldn't have to be a GP because of that.

Gertrude "Gertie" is okay. I tend to love old fashioned but this one doesn't do it for me. I think it's usable.

Daffodil - I normally love nature names but for whatever reason this one isn't for me. Maybe I could grow on it though... I admit I do think Daffy Duck. I wasn't a big looney toons fan myself. But.. I don't know. I like Saffron "Saffy" which is similar. But for me Daffodil "Daffy" would be a GP.

Dorinda "Dory" is nice enough. I don't think the Finding Dory association is a bad one, nor a reason to be a GP. I think Dory could be used alone too. Doesn't need a full name if you don't want. It feels full in the way Haley, Cory, etc are.

I like Whit on a boy. We actually considered Whitman and Whittaker for my second son. I think Whitfield is handsome too. Use it!

I didn't hear fornicate at all when saying Fallon Kate. I guess now that you say it it's slightly there but..

Carmello is okay, sounds like a good though haha.

I think Sailor and Anchor are super themey. Not my style. But doesn't make it bad. :)

Vivika is nice. Usable.

Tucker is usable I think. It's getting used more and more nowadays. Unless you're close friends I wouldn't see it as honoring.

Antigone, I love it so much that I wish it could be a first name and boy would I love to do it but I just don't think I could. :(
Kinda feel the same with Gertrude...

Since posting this I feel I've gotten a lot closer to some of the people I'm afraid of honoring.
Especially Reed as we just hung out on the 28th.
Just talked to Tucker as well.
I've never been close to Sutton though but I also don't like it as much as the others. Plus, I definitely don't want to seem like I'm honoring him out of all of them.
At the same time, no guarantee we'll still be in each other's lives/talking by the time I have a son...so it's up in the air at the moment.
(I know them through the teams they play on, athletes lol)

As for Jonas, I'm sad. I asked my brother what he'd think if I named a son Jonas and he immediately connected it to my old love for them. Sigh. He didn't say it was a bad choice, he just agreed that it's what he thought of at first.

Jesse & Bryce, I feel comfortable using so we'll just see if I find a good combo for them.

I also have Daisy on my list and would never have a Daisy and a Daffy (Daffodil) so I may cut it after all...at least as a potential first but I still love the idea of Daffy as a nickname.

I never thought of Dory as a stand alone name. That's not a bad idea. Thanks for that suggestion, I'll keep it in mind!

Maybe I'll move Carmello onto the potential pet name list!

I'm content with Whitfield, Fallon Kate, Vivika/Viveka and Sailor now, thanks :)
I'm willing to change my Fallon combo if I can find another girly middle name that's not too clunky.

Antigone: Not my first choice, but definitely a great alternative to Anthony!
Reed: Love it, I don't think it's a problem and I wouldn't potentially think you are honoring them
Sutton: I lle this one on a boy or girl, great choice, I think it works best as a MN
Jonas: Probably better as a MN for those who knew you liked the Jonas Brothers, but I think it's a great name!
Jesse: I think this one is fine, love it as a first or middle, if you don't feel comfortable though, don't use it :)
Bryce: It's not my favorite name and I agree probably best as a MN but if you love it, use it :).
Gertrude/Gertie: Love it! It's meaning is a great one and I think it works best as a MN, and if you love Gertie so much, you cal always have the option of calling her Gertie as a NN even though it's more than likely be in the MN slot.
Daffodil/Daffy: There is always the option of choosing a first and middle name that give you the NN Daffy (for example Desta Felicity or Desta Ferryn)
Dorinda/Dory: If you love it, go for it, I'm not fond of Dory, I do love Dorothy though and if you like Dorothy, it is a great way to get Doey
Whitfield: Love, love, love it! Great choice!
Fallon Kate: Again, loovee it! Golden combo!
Carmello: While it's not my favorite, it would be a cool MN, :)
Sailor: I do think it may be to much, it's cute and having siblings with MN's of Anchor and Sailor might be just a little much, however, it's ultimately up to you :) (love both Anchor and Sailor though)
Vivika: It's not my style, but I think it's a great name and a refreshing choice, away from Vivienne, and would be a nice way to have the nickname Vivi
Tucker: Cute name, but I see it more on a dog than a boy, but if you love it, go for it!
Overall you have great names, and if you love a name, use it!.
