Yes, well... we'll know in a few weeks if we were successful yet or not. I'm anxious, torn between impending joy and disappointment. But this is just one of those things that is out of my hands, which drives me nuts b/c I like to plan everything. *sigh* The waiting is what's killing me right now. I hate the unknown.

Good luck to you and I hope things work out for you!! Sailor was a bit of a surprise to Blake and I, as we were only 17 when she was born, so at first we were not overly thrilled, but now I can't wish things had turned out differently, because Sailor is the most important thing in my life, and she brought Blake and I closer together. I adore being a mother, even if so young! Blake and I even want to have more kids, but we want to do that after college and hopefully we'll be married the next time around...lol. Anyway, good luck Cait!!

On the subject of teenagers: I was a very bad girl and hopefully Sailor turns out better than I did, lol.

We are currently expecting number four, and are so excited! I am of course a mother first, but I am a writer second. I am a nut about names and etymology in general. I love reading; I’m a sucker for both the more modern fantasy books, like Harry Potter, and the also classics, like Shakespeare. Music is another thing that I could’ve live without, and I have to say my tastes definitely lean towards modern rock: Nickelback, Hinder, Papa Roach, and Theory of a Deadman are my very favorites. Not too big on television, but I couldn’t live without Lost. I also love cars (and driving them!), and I am the proud “mommy” of a Ford Mustang. I’m also pretty big on talking and I like to see myself as friendly, so I hope to see you around the boards!

I wish you the best of luck, Cait *hugs* I know how absolutely horrible the anxiousness can be. We weren't really trying to get pregnant when we found out about Shay and Shelby so it was a bit of a surprise, but when I was about five months along I fell down a few stairs -- not a huge fall, but one that nonetheless scared the hell out of me and Josh. Going to the doctors after that was without a doubt the most excruciatingly slow, horrible time of my life but, thank God, everything was fine

I hope things work out, you only deserve the best :D

  • Interests:I LOVE reading. I'm into almost every genre and generally read a book a week, if possible. I like Iris Johansen, Karen Marie Moning, Stephen King, James Patterson, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Diana Gabaldon, Kathy Reichs, and Robert Burns (every Scot's favorite author). I really love music and even got accepted to the Mason Gross School of Performing Arts at Rutgers University (my alma mater) for vocal performance. Unfortunately performance life was not for me, so I went into English Lit and French instead. Music is still a big part of my life, and I like a multitude of musical genres from Reggae to Rock to Opera. I've seen Carmen and La bohème each twice. (And I cry every time.) My husband and I also have a special place in our hearts for The Beatles.

The nicknames I have had associated with my name:
Lyss
Lyssa
Aly
Alyss

but none of them ever stuck...

I have always gone by Eliza with my friends (it's an inside joke and has no relation to my name)

Also, ever since I was little, I have been called Pookie. By my family mostly. It still goes on today. And, honestly, I kinda like it! As long as my mom doesn't do it in public!

I've always been called - guess what - Kate. My grandmother did try to call me Kay but I would just say 'Nana, that sounds like one of your lady friends!' At the time Kay sounded very old

I don't really have nicknames for my girls, but Edward is often called Ed, Eddie or Tom (from his middle name, Thomas) and James gets Jamie a lot. I don't know, I feel like Helena and Lydia don't really lend themselves to nicknames as much as Edward and James do.

Tricia, my first name, always gave people the idea to call me Trish, though I hated it. As you can see, since I now go by my middle name, LeAnne, I didn't really like Tricia to begin with. Ha. Lots of my friends call me Lee which I really like despite the masculinity. My eldest brother, who is the father of my niece and nephew, along with anyone refering to me as an aunt calls me Poof. My other brother somehow got the name Unkadunka (as uncle) when Josh was born, and they were forever searching for an interesting name for me. One day a Sunsilk commercial came on advertising anti-poof shampoo. Like Auntie Poof. So I adopted the name Poof. My best friend calls me Churro almost exclusively, though I don't have the slightest clue where she came up with it. I never bothered asking and I'm sure she's forgotten now. Haha. :]

I've always gone by Iszy at home, and when I was younger, Isabelle during school.
My parents have called me Bia ever since I can remember, and I don't really know why. So, naturally, with family I was called Bia or Bee.
When people call me Iszy, it usually translates into Is or Isa (same goes for Isabelle).

Somewhere along the line, someone got the idea to call me Belle, which I absolutely hated at the time.
When we were teaching our kids our names for safety, such as in a store if they get lost, they always called James, Jays and me Zizy.

I call Lorena a lot of names: Lo, Rain, Raina. She has been called Lorie, Ren, Lolo...etc.
Emilia: Em, Milly, Lia, Emi
Mitchell: Mitch, Mitchy

Our dog Ricochet gets called Ric, Rico, and Chet (pronounced like shay) a lot. Houdini is just Houdini and Tempest we call Temmy a lot. Lorena calls Kesara, Kessy more often than not.

My name is Elizabeth, and it drove me crazy the first semester of college how everyone wanted to shorten it to something. Perfect strangers constantly asked me if I went by something else. Josh got lots of early points by commenting that he liked Elizabeth. My dad calls me Lizzie and Lizzie Mae, which is fine. Oddly, I had a boss in his 50's who also decided to call me Lizzie. That felt strange. I've also been called Cricket (for all my chirping).

Generally, I don't like shortened forms of names; instead our nicknames around here are random and unrelated to our names. Before Samuel was born, I liked Sam, but since then, we've realized our son is just not a Sam! He picked up his first nickname as a newborn when my cousin sent a baby card welcoming our "sack of sugar" (she's from Texas). So he became the Sack of Sugar, and later, Sack. Which is great for Sack-Attack (a tickle fight) and sacked out. Laurel became "Peep." Josh calls me "Babe-Chick." Chloe and Noah don't really have nicknames yet. Recently, Samuel said, "I know why we call him Noah. We're always saying, 'NO! Ahhhhhhhh..."

Nicknames abound in my family and alot of them have nothing to do with
our names.
My children are..
Matthew.. nn Matt (only for his friends) and Henry.
Brandon is Bean or Beano
Zachariah is Zach or Riah..
Kaelyn is Kay or KK or Missy B. but usually Kaelyn as a baby she was the chunky monkey.
Megan Joelle is Meggie/Meg Meggie Jo or Joellie Bellie.

I am Jennifer and was always Jen or Jenny when I was younger

well my name is diana pronounced dee ayy nuh so sometimes my dad or husband will call me dee. my daughter is barbara and since bar is in her name, when she was little she would always get confused and write her names as bearbeara or write the animal as a bar.. needless to say, the teachers would get a kick out of her describing a bar.. so we call her bear often, and its cute.. my son armando we usually call armand or mond and darnelia we call dar or darneils just as a quick shortener. for heidi its usually just heidi or hides. my husband toby is tobes and my dad cedrik was always called sedge by my mom. otherwise, no great nicknames, but ones that work you know?

I have more nicknames than anyone should! My name is Alexis Brooke, so most of the time people just call me Lexii. My friend Ashton calls me Lexi Brooke cause I always act weird when I'm with her. My niece calls me Aunt Bookie, cause she can't say Brooke. I lived in Missouri so I've been called Hick a few times too many. Then...oddly enough...my aunts all call me Goobie. No one remembers WHY, but that's my family nickname. A lot of people call me Mood too cause my last name is Moody.

I don't have any kids [[no kids till I'm at least 20]] which is good now cause I'm only 14. But I've decided my first daughter will be Sarah Victoria nn Shae or Saige. My first son will Noah Lukas nn Lukey.

I do have 2 dogs though! Buster August is 12. His nn is Gus or Gussy. Then Macaronii Milo is 4 months, almost 5. His nn is Mac or Macky or Macky Milo or Mac-Attack, cause he loves to bite everything and anything.

I also have named many appliances around the house. Also, many childhood toys have had names. My favorite was my stuff dog. He had a large head and my mom loves to share how she'd ask how the doggy was and i'd alway say big-head is lovely today =/ Her name was China Big Head.

my cousin's grandmother is nicknamed midge. forever, my family thought it was a nickname for some sort of name (we don't know her real name) . kind of like madge is a common nickname for margaret, but just the other day, we asked her why she was called midge and she said it's because she was always short!

My grandmother calls her patat (dunno if I spelled that correctly), which is French for potato...She said she looked like a potato in the womb and so she keeps calling her patat...

When I was in high school I took French and if I am not mistaken and remember my french right potato is pomme de tere which is the long one but the one your grandmother is thinking of is patate (pay-tah-t (like caw) )

My fn is Christi Mae and I grew up with nicknames like Chrissie, Chris, Christ (not jesus chris with a t)
Cee, Cissie, Chry (chree) and more recently Chrisme turned around into Kiss Me which only Matt calls me. lol.

My eldest daughter Riverlynne Faye, We call her River or Rilynne. Matt of course calls her Lynne River which is the street he proposed to me on 5/22/98. River was born on 5/22/00 so we named her River Lynne. We've been married for a week!!!! (we wanted 4 of our own children in our wedding. and i was 6 months preg with my fifth. 05/22/08)

Then my twins Claira Naomi and Chandler Garth. We call Claira , Clair or Lion or Tiger. Then we call Chandler Farmer or Chand. And they are both 6

And Natalia Emilee we just call Nati or Nats or Lia occasionaly.

Matts name is Matthew and i call him Matty from the first day we met 05/22/92 (we were 12 and 13)

05/22 is our date. Met on May 22 when we were 12 and 13. Engaged on May 22 when we were 18 and 19. We had Riverlynne on May 22 when we were 20 and 21 and were married on May 22 when we were 27 and 28.
