Wow, so many replies so quickly! So far, by my count, winners are:

Gwen Cordelia

Helena Daphne

Sasha Penelope

Eliza Florence

Cordelia Jane

Malcolm Arthur

Harvey

Damian Clark

Dexter Benjamin

Quentin Oliver

So, pitting them against each other, how about:

Gwen Cordelia -or- Cordelia Jane

Helena Daphne -or- Eliza Florence

Sasha Penelope -or- Gwen Cordelia

Malcolm Arthur -or- Dexter Benjamin

Quentin Oliver -or- Malcolm Arthur

Damian Clark -or- Harvey Damon

*I repeated two because of odd number, and gave

Harvey a middle out of fairness. I actually really like Harvey Damon.

Gwen Cordelia -or- Cordelia Jane

Helena Daphne -or- Eliza Florence

Sasha Penelope -or- Gwen Cordelia

Malcolm Arthur -or- Dexter Benjamin

Quentin Oliver -or- Malcolm Arthur

Damian Clark -or- Harvey Damon

I love both Sasha Penelope and Gwen Cordelia, but Gwen Cordelia a little more. Why are these two against each other? <3 Is there a similarity I'm just not noticing? Same with the boys? The only boys I notice that have similar names are Damian Clark or Harvey Damon, which have both names with similar sounds. I think Malcolm Arthur and Dexter Benjamin would make a handsome combo :)

Heather! I always love seeing your posts. You have such stunning names on your list.

1. Gwen Cordelia

I think Gwen Susanna is a little "n" heavy. For me, it ruins the flow a little.

2. Helena Iris

As much as I love Daphne and Florence, I think since Helena ends in the "na" sound and both middles have strong "n" sounds, I have the same problem as with Gwen Susanna.

3. Sasha Beatrix

Sasha Juliet was hard for me to pronounce.. not sure if it was me or if others had the same problem?

And though I adore Penelope, I'm not sure if the style of both names clashes a little.

4. Eliza Florence

Though I love how Helena Florence looks, I think Eliza Florence is gorgeous.

5. I couldn't pick for this one, I'm sorry!

I really like how Cordelia June sounds, but Jane is just such a classic.. It's a draw for me!

--

6. Malcolm Arthur

I think the flow of Malcolm Arthur is better. I do prefer Arthur as a first name, but there's something about this combo that I like.

7. Clark

Harvey comes second and then Arthur for me.. Is there a reason you couldn't use all three?

8. Damian Clark

I think I have slight OCD when it comes to flow. I tend to go with a longer first name and a one or two syllable middle name. I think Clark Damian would be a more interesting combination, but I can't get over what I'd usually pick.

9. Dexter Benjamin

I adore this one, it wins hands down! Cassidy is nice, but I like how you paired Dexter with a slightly more traditional and common name. It makes it a little more masculine.

10. Quentin Oliver

As much I love both Harvey and Oliver and how they look, I can't let go that when I say them, it's a very "v" heavy combo.

Oliver Quentin would also be lovely.

Also:

Gwen Cordelia -or- Cordelia Jane

Helena Daphne -or- Eliza Florence

Sasha Penelope -or- Gwen Cordelia

Malcolm Arthur -or- Dexter Benjamin

Quentin Oliver -or- Malcolm Arthur

I kinda paired them just based on a feeling, trying to get similar ones together to make it harder. I guess I did pretty well. :)

Thank you! I love your name choices too, Yas.

I've never actually noticed the 'N'ness of Gwen Susanna. Sigh. I really like it, and Gwen Cordelia. As names, I prefer Cordelia to Susanna but Susanna gets a +1 for being basically the only honoring name on my list. I share my middle (Elaine) with my aunt Susan, and she's like the nicest person in my family and the only ones I'd really like to honor. Hmm. Susanna as a first name? I've tried it before but nothing stuck. Any suggestions?

Darn that N. Have no idea why I didn't notice that or the V for Harvey Oliver. Probably because I don't ever say them out loud - it'd weird the boyfriend out or make him try to talk to me about this stuff. I think I still prefer Helena Florence over Iris...

I really like Malcolm Arthur too. Just sounds noble for some reason. Really knight-like. There's no reason I couldn't use all three, these are just basically my go-to handsome middle names. I looove each one but they don't quite get first name for one reason or another. Arthur because I'm not sure I could deal with Art/Arty, Harvey because I feel like people would dislike it the most (old man name), and Clark because it is one of a very small pool of names that just doesn't work well with the silly bf's last name - the share the 'lar' part, though his LN is pronounced with more of a 'ler'. Clark also looses point because of not having a ready-made nickname. On the plus side, though, babynamesworld's survey shows that Clarks don't get much flack for their name.

I'm right there with you on #8. I typically don't go for short first names... but Clark is pretty handsome. For #9, I think that Dexter Benjamin has just been my combo for so long (years) that I just have to keep looking to reassure myself. Dexter Cassidy is definitely my number two choice for that, though. It does lose point for me only knowing female Cassidys *grumblegrumble*. #10 - Yeah I can't believe that didn't occur to me. I needed to add one to fill that blank and Harvey seemed to make Oliver more interesting while Oliver mellowed Harvey's old-man vibe. Too bad.

Anyway, I'll tally up the votes later and get back to you. Would like more people to pick for the second group so I can get a better cross-section but it's not like this is scientific at all lol.

Helena Florence is a gorgeous combo, no doubt about it. I can't let go of my "Anna Florence" just yet!

I have a friend whose mother's name is Susan and grandmother's name is Susannah.

I think Susannah just has a more interesting feel and is less dated.
