Hello! My husband & I are planning for our first baby. We have a boy name picked out but we're struggling with a girl name, especially a middle name. We figured once we got the middle name figured, the first name would be easier to pick.
What's so difficult is I'm wanting to combine my mother's name & my mother in law's name.
My mother's name is Rachel (& her middle name is Ruth, the same as mine so I'd rather not use it). My mother in law's name is Mary Jeanne, but everyone calls her Jeannie.
I'd thought about Raejeana, like an alternate spelling Regina. But I know someone named Regina & I'm not sure if I want to use it.
I'd also thought about combining Mary & Rachel to get Marchel (pronounced like Mar-chell) & I liked it better but one of my best friends said it was a really sharp sounding name & sounds like a mispronounciation of the name Marcel (Mar-cell)...so now I don't know what to do.
Any help would be appreciated!

Woah, Raejeana? I wouldn't even begin to know how to pronounce that, and I surely wouldn't get to Regina. I really don't mean that in a rude way, I'm just being honest.

Marchel is cute, but what about elongating it to Marcheline? Marcheline is a lovely French name, very beautiful. And you can always nickname her Marchel if you want.

What about a double name? Mary-Rachel or Rachel-Marie would be nice, maybe Mary-Rae.

Or you could combine the names into Michelle.

Maribel is a name that begins with the first 3 letters of Mary and ends with the last 2 of Rachel. Mercer starts with M and ends with R.

March would be a pretty, unexpected choice.

Maybe you could honor something else about your mothers? Like use a character trait that stands out in both of them, like, for example, Amity or Grace.
