So...I am working on a Dystopian novel and have loved coming up with names that "fit" that era.  I love trying to figure out what the naming trends would be if the world went this way or that way.

Below are names for a current project set in 2442 and 2434 (there are flashback scenes).  Looking for opinions on the names, both for my project and in general.  Also, what naming trends could you see coming about in 400 years?  Or names that you like/dislike that you think fit the names that I listed below.

I'm not putting this in the novel section of the site because I want to talk about more than the names in relevance to my story.  I want to talk about maybe wacky names in general and if you think that they could ever work in our society or hear if there are any of these names that you would actually consider using for your own children.

So, below are names that I have used/am considering using in a dystopian world setting.  What do you think of them?  Any that you would use today?  Any that you hope and pray that I am wrong about and never see the light of day?  Any names that you guess will become popular based on trends and where baby naming seems to be going?  I would love to here your thoughts on anything.  Please don't feel overwhelmed.  If there is even one aspect of this post that interests you enough to comment, then I would love your comment.  I am by no means asking for long detailed responses to every question that I have asked.  Though, if giving long detailed responses is your thing, then I welcome those as well. :)

Love so many of these names! I think a lot of them work very well for a dystopian novel! And several of them I could see rising in popularity in the future and also working for children now days!!

My two favorites are Hawthorne and Zedekiah // Ember and Soleil

(The one that I am not a fan of is Vanilla or Parsley)

I would change the spelling of a few and use a couple for the opposite gender, but I like a lot of them still!

My current dystopian novel has several characters and these are there names:

Rowan Felicity Ardith (mother to Iridessa Juno Life & Rainier Lucian Valor)

Juniper Matilda Clowance (twin to Rowan)

Zarina Skye 'Skye/Zee'

Cove Atalia

Warren Hayes

Atlas Garrick

Emeric Finnegan

Varian Fox
