Having trouble finding a name I really love that matches Adelaide's style. I'd like an old fashioned name, and something strong and somewhat masculine. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions. The ones I like are:

Oliver - I've liked this one for a long time, but I'm afraid it's becoming too common. I really want a unique name. Something rare but familiar.
Henry - This is somewhat common as well, but doesn't have the trendy factor that Oliver does.
Josiah
Jasper - I like this, but would it make people think of the twilight character? I'm not sure how popular the character is, I haven't read the books or seen the movie
Harrison - Like the style, but my cousin named her son this.
Leo
Miles
Archie - Super cute but I don't care for the full name Archibald. But I like it as a nn for Archer. In fact, Archer is really starting to grow on me.
Simon
Elliott
Graham - I really like this one
Theodore - Theo is a cute nn
Silas
Calvin - Like it, not sure it goes with Adelaide though. And there's the whole Calvin and Hobbes association...
Malcolm

The suggestions inspired a few other names for me.

Emerson
Grant
Luther
Deacon
Casper
Lincoln
Israel
Gideon (I know, these last two break my no-bible-names rule, but really like them! lol

My problem is that my style is diverse, and I'm not sure how all of those names go with Adelaide. What do you think are the best matches? Any other ideas based on the names I like? Thanks again!

What a charming name, Adelaide! :)

here's what comes out of my hat. {I love old fashioned and vintage!}

Leonard- you like Leo, but what about it's longer version? I think it has an innate beauty that's so cool.
Casper- it was on your list, and I think it goes so very well with your girl. Old fashioned and charming! which brings me to the next two names,
Caspian &
Conrad- I absolutely adore it.
Hugo & Hugh -- either one looks and sound sleek, literary and sophisticated, with a coat of elegance mixed with spunk. Perfection!
Edward, nickname Ned-- Twilight ruined a perfectly vintage name, but the awful association can be avoided by using this spunky, fun and a little geeky nickname. Perfect if sister Adelaide goes by a nickname as well!
Edmund- It's still got a literary & movie connection, but I dare say Narnia is better than Vampire. Plus, it's still awfully uncommon.
Ernest - this literary gem is very underestimated, I think.
Atticus -- I may be wrong, but I see it rising a tiny bit in popularity. Nevertheless, the name is anything if not masculine!
Blaise- a little too posh maybe? Blaine and Blaise give have an upper-class feel to me, which can be irking, but they still feel fascinating.
Frederick- Definitely old-school, but I think it rocks. Freddy/Freddie would be a good alternative for a little boy.
Damian- This is a name I myself have rediscovered. It's like masculinity and elegance all rolled into one. Win!
Dorian- very similar to Damian, but with a more literary connotation.
Sebastian- A bit predictable and a overused, but who can resist?
Julian- Less old fashioned, but still very charming.

I hope this sparks some ideas, let us know!
Oh, and I would love to know Adelaide's full name, if you don't mind sharing (:

To answer you question on names that go best...I think names that are just as musical/rhythmic as Adelaide would go best, something on the longer side and of course something just as unique and interesting as Adelaide. From your likes list. I think names like Gideon, Theodore, Elliott, Jasper (though I understand your Twilight aversion), Lincoln, and Casper would work best. (I adore the name Casper :))

My favorites in order would be:

Theodore & Adelaide
Lincoln & Adelaide
Casper & Adelaide
Elliott & Adelaide
Gideon & Adelaide

I like Adelaide and Atticus, or Adelaide and Everett, or Linus, although I don't know how masculine that sounds.
