Zaiden Michael Spalding {2} is Michaela's nephew. He and his mom, Michaela's 20 year old sister, live with Michaela. Z's dad left when he was born because he didn't want to deal with a child. His middle name is after "Auntie Kaela." He loves to play outside and is quite the camera hog.

Reed Eleanor Flicka (14) is Hunter's kid sister. She and Hunter grew up in foster homes and were always very close. Reed is a freshman at the local high school and is on the verge of being adopted by a great family. This has created some tension between Reed and her sister as Hunter never got the chance to be formally adopted and loved like Reed has. Reed is trying to see her sister as often as possible while still being involved at her school-- set designing and stage managing for their record breaking drama program.

Quito Santiago Mann {20} is Reed's former boyfriend, but he left when Zaiden was born. He really didn't want to deal with becoming a father, so he just left. Since then, he's gotten two other girls pregnant, one of whom is only 16. He is from Spain and lives in the US, and his Spanish accent charms the ladies.

Elena Caroline Mann (8) is Quito's little stepsister. The reason he moved to the US is because Elena's mother fell in love with his father while Elena was on a trip with her mother and older sister. Ellie is very bold and confident and always poses for pictures (her sister is a photographer). Elena is learning to play guitar and is working on her Spanish.

Rosen Caterina Harris {8} and Rihanna Carol Harris {8} are the twin best friends of Elena Mann. They are very playful and love summertime. Rosen is the athletic one, she loves to play sports and run around. Rihanna loves art; drawing, acting, singing. She and Elena are learning guitar together.

Rhys Logan Harris (13) is Rosen and Rihanna's brother. Rhys loves sports and, unlike most teen/tween boys, he loves playing with his sister. He gives her soccer pointers, basketball lessons, lacrosse scrimmages...you name it, they've done it. Rhys's friends think it's weird that he likes doing this, but Rhys is resilient and keeps playing with Rosen anyway. He is sweet and loud.

Cashen Scott Hall {14} is the Harris' families next door neighbor. He and Rhys have been best friends since they rolled a ball around together on the first day of preschool. They play all their sports together and are in the same grade at school. Cashen is welcomed like family into the Harris home, just like Rhys is welcome at the Hall home. He currently has a very kind girlfriend.

Serena Lily Carlton (14) is Cashen's girlfriend. She sings and plays bass in a band that she and her friends started last year. She is a little punk-rock and different, which disappoints her Ivy League parents. Sera feels pressured by her parents to be someone she's not, and it's really taking a toll on her.

Edith Lily "Edie" Xavier {12} is a little neighborhood girl who admires Sera. She is extremely quiet, but Sera befriended her. They first bonded over their shared middle names, but now they are much deeper. Both feel they have pressure from their parents to become someone they are not. All Edie wants to do is draw and be in nature, but her parents want her to be a doctor like them, and all her older siblings plan to be. She is the youngest child in her family.

Melissa Grey Xavier (16) is Edie's older sister. She is a terrible big sis and hates that her sister loves drawing and nature. She is driven towards being a doctor and has straight A's all around. She is a model friend and model student, but lately she has been getting into some trouble with older kids.

Easton Lewis Xavier {17} is the older brother of Melissa and Edie. He has one more older sibling, but the rest are younger. Easton is very studious, and when he graduates from high school next year he plans to study pre-med at an Ivy League school. Even though his intelligence would put him in the "nerd" category, he's actually quite popular at the high school.

Sage Elena Brenner (17) is Easton's girlfriend. She is madly in love with him. She is a photographer and a nature lover. She is also very smart, a borderline nerd, but she is also fairly popular. Sage's parents are far from Ivy League. They're splitting right now, and it's very hard on her. There's not much for her to live on, with her father walking out and all.

Arlo Isaac Brenner {14} is the younger brother of Sage. He is having an even harder time than his sister with his parents' split. He and his dad used to be close, but his dad just left like he didn't care about Arlo at all. Arlo is happy for his sister that she is dating Easton, he thinks Easton is good for her. Arlo has a girlfriend of his own, too.

Kaitlyn Susanna Dawson "Katie" [14] is Arlo Brenner's girlfriend. The two have been friends since elementary school, and have recently started dating. Katie comes from a stable, happy home, and Arlo has been spending more and more time at her house since his dad left. Katie loves to read and write in her spare time and hopes to be a young adult novelist in the future.

Jackson Luther Dawson {9} is the younger brother of Kaitlyn. He is very happy and outgoing, he loves to make people laugh. People say he takes after his dad. He doesn't like to see other people sad, and he always tries to cheer Arlo up. Ever since Kaitlyn and Arlo started dating, Jackson has looked up to Arlo.

Alexa Violet Dawson (12) is Katie's younger sister and Jackson's older sister. She feels terrible for Arlo and once when Sage came over (father away with Ashley, mother struggling financially) to stay for a few days, Sage opened up to her. Alexa really likes Arlo's family and wishes that they had a family life like the Dawson's'. Alexa loves sketching dresses and outfits.

Camden Shane "Cam" Dawson {16} is the oldest kid in the Dawson family, older brother to Kaitlyn, Alexa, and Jackson. He is a protective older brother and is very cautious about Arlo because of that. He doesn't want Kaitlyn's heart broken. Cam loves running track and cross country for the high school. He drives a nice, used jeep that he loves.

Mark Washington Tyler (34) is the Dawsons's neighbor and the man Cam got his Jeep from. Mark is a widower who lost both his son and his wife during childbirth. Mark us somewhat if a loner, but Cam talks to him about life sometimes, and Mark enjoys his presence. Cam is the same age his son would be now.

Joseph Kennedy "Ken" Tyler {28} is the brother of Mark Tyler. Ken is more of a city boy than his brother. He is happily married to his wife and has two kids; a boy and a girl- and his wife is pregnant with number three. He feels bad for his brother's loss and doesn't know how to cheer him up. Ken is an investment banker and his wife is a stay at home mom.
