Kate, you spelled Elodie with an accent on the E. Is there a reason for that? I'm just curious...

Well, it's the original French spelling (it's pronounced something like ay-loh-DEE), and some keyboards don't have accents - snce mine does, I'm taking advantage of it

Well, it's the original French spelling
Should I use the accent on the E, then? Do you think most people will still pronounce it EL-oh-dee?

I agree whole heartedly with Kate. If you want the name pronounced EL-oh-dee, then leave off the accent. And since you're an American most people will likely still pronounce it incorrectly even with it. It's sad, but true.If you want EL-oh-dee, then I'd forget about the accent, since it may confuse people.

Really? Why do you say that? I'm just curious. How do you think people would pronounce it?
BTW, thanks for that input. I'm glad I know now!

Most Americans, I've found, will pronounce things phonetically according to the English language. They wont necessarily pickup that this name is of French origin, and therefore would pronounce it the English way - "EL-oh-dee", not the French "eh-loh-DEE".
Cait's absolutely right. Especially after attending the school reunion thing with Josh, I can't even begin to tell you how many people thought we were pronouncing Victoire weird; that it was supposed to be just some odd spelling of "Victory".

Does Elodie Beatrix or Elodie Cadence go well with Isabella and Lilly?

Charity, as usual, is right on the money! All three names sound wonderful together. I think Isabella Christine, Lilliana Megan, & Elodie Beatrix flow the best!Isabella, Lilly, and Elodie... I think they sound absolutely amazing together!!!
