I was watching the movie Baby Geniuses, and the twin boys are named Sly (Sylvester) and Whit (i think short for Whitley). I love those two nicknames but I don't like the full names for them. I was thinking about the name Silas (i like it spelled Sylas), which is a name I love. Do you think Sly can be a nickname for Sylas? Also, what other names can you think of that give you the nickname Whit?

Weeeeeeell... I don't think Sly is a good thing to name your child after... even for a nickname.
Sorry... I can't think of any suggestions.

Kingsly is the only name that pops up for a boy containing the letter sly...
for a girl, Joslyn.
Whitaker is the only name with Whit.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the nn Whit...I plan on naming a boy Whitman nn Whit.
Whitten is another good one.

Thanks for your suggestions. I love the name Sylas, nn Sly. And Whitman is cute, but I don't think I'd ever use it. I love the nn Whit, and I think I am liking Whitley, but I'm not sure it sounds good for a boy. What do you think?

Whitley is a nice name, but I know a not-so-nice person who's a girl named Whitlee and so I always picture a girl.
