Holiday Saffron Jane Maxwell-Platt {5} is the daughter of Fern Maxwell and her ex-boyfriend. Fern only dated that ex-boyfriend for 3 months, but managed to get pregnant. Now, they have shared custody of Holiday. Holiday is a very sweet girl. She has a pet cat (that lives at her dad's house) named Denim that is basically her sidekick. Holiday can't wait to have her very first sibling, she is going to be a great big sister.

Anna Marie Eliza Platt (4) is Holiday's half-sister via their father. Anna Marie is a loud, funny, mature, happy-go-lucky kid. She knows that her parents aren't together and she knows that that's different from all of her friends. But she doesn't care. She loves playing princess pop star party with her friends and making forts with her brother. They both live with their daddy full-time. Holiday was born before Anna Marie's parents were together. When her daddy met her mommy, he turned his life around and now has a respectable career and is a family man.

Andrea Francine Woodley [25] is the "mother" of Anna Marie Platt. Similarly to Fern Maxwell, Andrea met her ex-fling, Mister Platt, through Fern while at a party, it just took one time of unsafe sex and Andrea was pregnant. She thought about getting an abortion because career was only just starting when she was twenty and she knew she was not ready to be a mother, but Mister Platt begged her not to and Andrea was a little scared of the idea of having the procedure. In the end she chose to have her baby, but she signed over full custody to Mister Platt, promised to pay him a couple thousand a year to help differ the expense of raising a child. Since then, Andrea has seen Anna Marie only a handful of times, but the number is growing more and more per year because while Andrea still enjoys her partying ways and has no desire to be a role model or actually a mother she does enjoy giving Anna Marie gifts - as Andrea now has a very high income as a well known actress -and seeing that Anna Marie is happy and well cared for by her father. Recently, Andrea has begun dating another successful actress in Hollywood which has shocked a lot of people seeing as the woman is ten years Andrea's senior and has a very wholesome image compared to Andrea.

Sophia Mireille Marquette (35) is Andrea's girlfriend. Sophia is openly bisexual. She just got out of a marriage to a man who trapped her and abused her. Being with Andrea is so refreshing compared to her failed marriage. She doesn't know if she wants to pursue a further relationship with Andrea beyond this. She believes she really does connect with her, but she's scared. She's never been in this kind of relationship before and trying new things both excites and scares her. Sophia has always wanted a child. She wants Andrea to fight for Anna Marie. She's met the girl before and adores her. Sophia's experiences with Andrea make her look at life in a new way.

Abigail "Gail" Danae Ross [39] is the older sister of Sophia. Gail is a happy mother of five children. She loves them all and the ones in the picture are her three youngest in the family. She married very young but has never regretted her marriage. They live in Colorado, and the only wlectronic device they have is a television and old computer. They love going outdoors and camping.

Analie Savannah Ross [8] is the youngest daughter of Gail. She has a younger brother and two older brothers, and an older sister. Analie enjoys spending time with her brothers and wants to become a paleontoligist when she grows up.

Julian David Ross [9] is the son of Gail; older brother of Analie and another brother and tounger brother to a sister and brother. Julian is very close to Analie and his younger brother because the age gap to his next oldest sibling. Julian enjoys adventures in their backyard.

Simon Alexander Ross [5] is the youngest of the family. He just started kindergarten and is excited to learn. He loves collecting bugs and having funeral services for his pet grasshoppers and lizards.

Margaret "Maggie" Olivia Ross (11) is the daughter of Gail, niece of Sophia, and older sister to Analie, Julian, and Simon. Maggie is an avid girl scout and loves being outside. She can't stand the girls that are glued to their phones and laptops all the time. She loves the smell of fresh dirt, the sound of the creek in the forest, and the songs of the early morning birds. Maggie is very attached to everyone in her family. They rarely fight. Maggie sometimes wishes that she had fancy dresses or her own room or a big house. But she knows that nothing could compare to the relationship she has with her family. Her uncle died in the military, so she is very respectful of army men and women. She even took her girl scout troop to a military cemetery a few weeks ago.

Derek John Lindsay {30} is the next door neighbor of Gail Ross and her children. Derek is a widower, his wife died in childbirth with his youngest. He has two kids, both boys. He owns a successful coffee shop downtown that he and his wife started from the ground up. It is called "Daphne + Jack's" after Derek's grandparents. Since he just recently lost his wife, he has no interest in dating.

Peter Benjamin Ross [17] is the eldest brother in the family; older brother to Analie, Simon, Julian, and Maggie. The age gap has never stopped Peter from being close to his siblings. He drives them to school and practices and loves bike riding in the evening.Usually he will go to the coffeshop of Daphne + Jack.

Emily Theresa Camden (nee Lindsay, 33) is Derek's sister and the aunt of Reuben and Josiah. Sometimes Peter Ross watches her kids. Emily was so grief-stricken when her sister-in-law died. She couldn't imagine losing her husband. She's pitched in at Daphne and Jack's since she died. Emily's kids mean the world to her. She loves them with all her heart and is a bit of a PTA soccer mom. She takes her kids on fun camping trips and tries to connect with them every chance she gets. She runs with her son and fingerpaints incredible pictures with her daughter, 9.

 

Connor Elias Camden (4) is Emily's daughter. He loves running on the open field near his house. He is smiley and social and loves to play pretend with his sister and her friends.

Grace Madeline Camden {9} is the daughter of Emily Camden, big sister to Connor, niece of Derek Lindsay and cousin to Rue Jack and Josiah. She loves painting, drawing, oragami, and all things creative. She has fun dancing and singing, but more to be silly than anything. She loves going to her dad's office and "helping" him work. She also loves playing with her cousins, Rue Jack and Si, and going to have hot chocolate and Daphne + Jack's. Grace considers one of the baristas there to be her best friend. He's a middle aged man and he just adores Grace, she reminds him of his own daughter that he lost a few years ago.

Seth Parker Liuzzo (38) is Grace's "best friend." Seth's daughter died of lung cancer three years ago. She inhaled asbestos at her school. She was nine. Seth and his wife got loans to pay for her treatment. They worked three jobs each. They still lost her and they are swimming in debt. His daughter looked just like Grace. He works as a barista now because he lost his job during the months he was trying to pay for his daughter's treatment. Seth's job is fun for him. His wife divorced him when they lost their daughter. He has let most of his anger and sadness go.

Noah Wesley Liuzzo {36} is the younger brother of Seth Liuzzo, his only sibling. Noah and his wife were heartbroken when they lost their niece, and they were so sad that Seth had to endure losing his only child. Noah and his wife have had much trouble getting pregnant. They tried for nearly nine years before getting pregnant with their first, a little girl who is now 5. Two years after their daughter was born, they found out they were expecting again, with a little boy.

Alya Madeleine Liuzzo [5] is the daughter of Noah, older sister of Nick, and niece of Seth. Alya is a shy, introverted little girl, she loves spending time by herself colouring or reading picture books. She's definitely a momma's girl, and clings to her quite often, especially when she takes Alya to preschool.

Amanda "Mandy" Jennifer Liuzzo (nee Lauten, 35) is Noah's wife and the mother of Nick and Alya. Mandy is so in love with Noah and their children and their wonderful family. Mandy went through a lot to become a mother. She married Noah when he was 21 and she was 20 and they started trying on their honeymoon. Mandy suffered four miscarriages over the course of nine years, and then she finally had Alya. Nick was a surprise! They weren't even trying. It was the sweetest miracle. Mandy works as a lawyer. Some people don't take her seriously as a lawyer because she is a young woman, but she is a shark in the courtroom and has the best record at her firm. Mandy was a very troubled teenager. She had the grades and was very good in school, but she partied too hard and lost her virginity way too young. Upon entering college and meeting Noah, everything changed. She loves her life so much. Mandy has a troubled sister whom she sees from time to time. Never scheduled. She usually asks her for money to buy drugs.

Chelsea 'Chex' Miranda Lauten [25] is Mandy's troubled sister who is going dow. the wrong path by letting drugs take over her life. The age gap has left Chex feeling lonely because her sister and hwr were never close. Chex is surrounded by the bad influences. After her father died she turned to drugs and ever since three years ago she has been on a downward spiral.

Roscoe Alexander Norrid [19] is Chex's boyfriend. Roscoe met Chex at a highly illegal party, and they immediately found things in common. He's able to support Chex in her drug use, and they often use together. He's significantly younger than her, and is able to use her age in order to get in contact with such substances. The relationship is in no way healthy, due to Roscoe's violent nature and the age gap. He's the oldest of many younger sisters, but the mother isn't in the picture and the father is often working in order to support his children. Roscoe doesn't see them very often as he doesn't go home, instead he crashes with Chex or lives in his car.

Poppy Marie Norrid [13] is the younger sister of Roscoe. She has two older sisters and three younger sisters (the youngest being 7 yrs old). Poppy is at a really confused state in her life. She adores her father and sometimes wishes she had a mother like all the other girls at school. She usually babysits her younger sisters when her older sisters party or with Roscoe smoking. She isn't new to thw qhole drig thing but has clearly told her brother she didn't want it so he doesn't bother her. She usually makes her sisters school lunches and will occasionally make dinner. Most of her sisters are only half sisters. Some mothers died, divorced or disappeared.

Kathleen 'Katy' Jessica Norrid [9] and Aviana 'Ava' Sophia-Marie Norrid [7] are younger half sisters of Poppy, Roscoe, and three more sisters. Katy and Ava are very close with each other, they share everything from their bedroom to their clothes, and they adore spending time with each other. Katy's mother left when she was 1 month old, and Ava's mother died in childbirth. They're close with their father as well, and don't like it much when Poppy is in charge. They keep to themselves a lot and don't have great relationships with their older siblings. Katy does a lot better in school than Ava; Katy is more academic and loves to learn while Ava messes around a lot.

Margo Indiana Norrid [18] is the younger sister of Roscoe and older half sister of a 15 yr old girl, Poppy, a 10 yr old girl, Katy and Ava. Margo is the only blood sibling of Roscoe but she doesn't embrace it. He was never a great influence on her and hates seeing him bring others down with him like his girlfriend, Chex. Margo's mother died of cancer when she was one years old and has no memory of her except old photograph. She works as a barista and is trying to make a living after barely graduating highschool.

Ashley Grace Braxton (8) is Margo's best friend. Ashley is abused at home. She lives with her father, a drug user. She is an only child. Every day, Ashley stops at the café for an hour or so to talk to Margo. Ashley would have killed herself by now if it weren't for Margo. Ashley's abuse is so tough on her. She goes to school, but there are long stretches when she just doesn't show up. Her teachers have a pretty good idea what's going on. Her friends don't. Ashley loves books. She reads at an extremely high level. Reading is her escape. She reads, and draws a picture for every chapter.
