main character problems

At the moment I'm using the name Sophie but it seems too sweet and cutesy.
The main character is a girl whose about to die and is writing to her family and friends, a final goodbye if you like. She's 17 but by no means immature. She's interlectual, kind-hearted and funny. She has accepted her impending death and seems older than her years.
Nothing seems right for her though.
She began as Alex but that was too spunky, she's a soft, shy girl.
I tried out Anna but it seemed too old for her.
I can't seem to find the happy medium that fits her name and personality.
Her brother's name is probably going to be Samuel (Sam) so something that fits that would be great.
Any suggestions would be great, thank you.

Does she have to have a name? I wrote a story about a girl waiting the few minutes it took for the pregnancy test to develope and about her thought process during the waiting time. I couldnt find a name for her either and decided that she really didn't need to have one and that the story was more personable without the name.
You could have her sign her letter as what she was to her family...a loving and affectionate daughter, sister and friend.

I love the idea of not giving her name during the story, and using a nickname instead probably makes it more personal and perhaps more relatable.
I'll still consider using a name though, I still like Sophie, and I also like Elizabeth, Elise and Sarah. Charlotte fits too but that's my name and I think that would be a bit weird writing about a girl named Charlotte dying.
Thank you
