No offense, it's just that, as a Native American myself, people are often...misguided... when it comes to Native American culture, so I feel it's necessary to inform people when I can.
None of the names those nice ladies gave you are real Native American names. It's not their fault; websites and books are filled with inaccuracies like this.
On the blog on my website I give a bunch of reasons why I think "Native American" names are one big bad idea if you want to check it out.
I think Daniel would be a nice name.

Yeah, I can tell you right now that those were just names I found on a website that I thought sounded nice, so don't take my word for it. Elle's got a really good point, but if your set on this idea, you should definitely do some in-depth research or ask someone with more authority on the matter. Or like Elle said, just stick with Daniel - I think that's a great name for a little boy.

are they enrolled members of the tribe?
if they aren't enrolled members, they can't guarantee their ancestry.

Do you know any names from those family members that you like?
Going off of this, all of the Native Americans I know (I'm talking Indians who still live on reservations) bear what you would call "white" names.... Richard... Edward... Samuel...none of them have the traditional "Native American" names you find on these websites.
You're not going to find a Native American named Dakota.
