I love Imogen.

She's dramatic, beautiful, literary... everything I could ever want in a name!

But she lacks one thing...

A bounty of nicknames.

I love nicknames. Delphi is not my real name (as you may have previously assumed) and my real name is positively unnicknameable. And since my name is also painfully common, I've had to be called by my last name my whole life for fear of the three other kids with my name in my class of only 25 kids. So nicknames are really important to me.

I like Idgie well enough, but I feel like a 6 year old would've aged out of it, if that makes since. I think Immy is horrid (no shade to any Immy lovers out there, just personal preference).

So I'm struggling. What nicknames are there for Imogen?

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. I rest my case. TIA.

I had a friend name Imogen who we often called Immy, but you clearly don't like it, lol. There's also Im, Mo, Momo, Gen, Genny, Genna, and Imma. They're not perfect, but they're there!

I'm not opposed to Genny. That's actually quite cute! Thank you WriterJones!

Like WriterJones, I was thinking Gen or Genny! If you don't like Immy, those are gorgeous! Also, Imogen is lovely as a full name by itself :)

I have a friend named Imogen and her nicknames are Gemma and Mo. I’m not sure exactly how Gemma came to be one of them but she wears it well!

Thank you so much! Maybe IMoGEn but rearranged? Gemma wouldn't work for me just because of names already in our family, but it's nice to hear about other Imogens!

I was just looking into this! Gen/Genny, Ims/Immy, or even Ginny is super cute but I'm partial to Mogs/Moggy myself

That's really interesting! How do you pronounce Imogen, just to help determine how Moggy is a nickname.

Hey! I just thought of Iggy as a nickname for Imogen. Does that work, or is it too much of a stretch?

I mean yeah, it’s closer than Jim is to James. I find that one weird.

That is an odd one! Jamie's cuter. Thanks for your input!
