Hey! So I always thought this name (and alternate spellings, Annika, Anikka, etc) were said Uh-nee-kuh but today, I met a little Anika pned On-Ih-kuh
How would you say it? Which spelling do you prefer?

I've met an ah-nee-kuh, Ah-nika {Anikka} & an O-nee-kuh.
I think it just depends on how you want it spelt!

I personally prefer awh-knee-kuh, with the stress on the first syllable. I have no idea if it's right though!

Annika was once my favorite name. I still like it, though not nearly as much. I say AN-ih-kuh and prefer it said this way. I like On-Ih-kuh as well but I think this works better with a Scandinavian accent. I strongly dislike Uh-nee-kuh & An-ee-kuh.

If I saw the double NN, like Annika, I would presume it was a name that rhymed with Danika, like "Ann' ih kuh'.
If I saw Anika, I'd probably presume the same based on my own family's names, but could see An ee' kah too.
Basically it's one of those names I'd probably ask them how to say before I said it.
