Avery---I'm really on the fence with this name. I like it and I don't like it. It has an appeal to it but I still think of it as a boys name. Other spellings I've come across: Averie, Avary, Avarie. I thought of Sophia Avery and Avery Eden. This one I've really been thing about.

Harper---I've had some interest in this name because of Wizard of Waverly Place. It's a unisex name but it doesn't remind me too much of boy's name.

Leighton---Something just attracts me to this name. I can't put my finger on it. I think it has the same charm as Harper.

Elle---I was watching Legally Blonde and I thought this name was cute.

Reese---Again, because of Legally Blonde. Another unisex name I like.

Skylar---This name I liked for a while. Originally, I liked it for a boy but now I'm seeing it more for a girl.

Zoe(y)---I'm not a BIG fan of this name as a standalone. Though Zooey Deschanel makes me think differently. Though unconventional, I like it as a nickname for Sophia.

Everly---I think this is cute name. I like the spelling Everlie and Everleigh.

Any suggestions for middle names? Or maybe good combinations?

-I agree with you on the name Avery. It really is an "on-the-fence" name. But for me personally, the masculinity of the name would make me want to use it for a girl, lol.
For a boy, I would spell it Avery; for a girl, I like the spelling Averie. But that's just my personal opinion. I really like Sophia Avery, though! Very cute! (:

Averie Grace
Averie Nicole
Averie Brianne
Averie Jade
Averie Sophia
Averie Joy (love this name!)
Averie Brynn
Averie Brooke
Averie Skylar

-As for Harper, I actually see it as more of a girl's name myself. I don't like it for a boy at all. I really like the name for a little girl, though.

Harper Marie
Harper Layne
Harper Elle ?
Harper Everly
Harper Chase
Harper Grace
Harper Nichole
Harper Natalia
Harper Josephine
Harper Jocelyn
Harper Kate
Harper Devyn
Harper Eva
Harper Eden
Harper Natalie

-Leighton for a girl or a boy? I grew up with a girl named Leighton and I always loved her name when we were younger, lol. I can see this name for either a girl or a boy although it looks just a bit more feminine to me.

Leighton Grace
Leighton Sophia
Leighton Harper ?
Leighton Nicole
Leighton Riley
Leighton Sage
Leighton Rose
Leighton Skye
Leighton Skylar
Leighton Michelle
Leighton Ava
Leighton Carys
Leighton Reese

-Elle is one of those simple, but classy names that I love. (: It ages well and sounds really cute on a little girl.

Elle Celeste
Elle Bailey
Elle Amelia
Elle Sophia
Elle Georgia
Elle Nicole
Elle Adrianna
Elle Mikayla
Elle Valerie
Elle Makenna
Elle Hunter
Elle Kathleen
Elle Ryleigh/Riley
Elle Mackenzie
Elle Scarlett

-I personally prefer the name Reese more on a boy, spelled Rhys. I'm not sure why, though. If it is used for a girl, I personally think it would need a super feminine middle name...but that's just me. (:

Reese Alana
Reese Arabelle
Reese Ava
Reese Natalie/Natalia
Reese Amber
Reese Victoria
Reese Autumn
Reese Aurora
Reese Alexis
Reese Alannah
Reese Mackenzie
Reese Thalia
Reese Evelyn
Reese Daphne

-I really love the name Skylar. I actually have it on my list, but spelled Schuyler. (:

Skylar Autumn
Skylar Addison
Skylar Ava
Skylar Eden
Skylar Leighton
Skylar Amelie
Skylar Natalie
Skylar Marissa
Skylar Grace
Skylar Hope
Skylar Isabelle
Skylar Gwyneth
Skylar Makenna
Skylar Avery/Averie
Skylar Ella

-Zoe(y) is cute as a standalone name, but it would definately need a longer middle name in my opinion...It's a cute nickname for Sophia as well! (:

Zoey Violet
Zoey Eden (LOVE this!)
Zoey Harper
Zoey Leighton
Zoey Isabelle
Zoey Mckenna
Zoey Ava
Zoey Morgan
Zoey Estelle
Zoey Skye
Zoey Jade

i know u wanted middle names but i couldnt resist writing my thoughts::

Avery---I cant like it no matter how hard i try. it was my friends surname and she was called birdie and tweeters and every bird name under the sun. i dont think that the name has come into that much popularity in australia.

Harper---I've had some interest in this name because of Wizard of Waverly Place. ..funny u mention the tv show. i work at the airport and had a little girl coe through called waverly, at first i hated it now i kinda like it, as for harper i think its ok, actually its pretty ok.

Leighton---2 images come to mind lleighton hewitt aussie tennis star and lleighton from gossip girl. i think its masculine but that also could be growing up with it as only a male name

Elle---Its growing on me, i perfer belle but not opposed to elle, short sharp and simple

Reese---my cousin is sophia reece. my xbf brother is reece. i dont like it either way you put it.

Skylar---definately i only like on a girl and id much perfer skye but its not too bad

Zoe(y)---very popular in aus! not something id use

Everly---its growing on me. i love ever on its own.

Avery---I really like Avery as a boys name. (It would have been Gracie's name if she were a boy). Though I prefer this as a boys name I don't dislike it on a girl.

Harper--- I see this name as being somewhat on the fence...I've never seen Wizards of Waverly Place or known any girls named Harper but it is quite feminine and along the same lines as Piper...However the first time I heard the name used was on a Syfy show (I forget which one) and it was a guy's name (probably his surname) I've also used it for a character as a guys name so I somewhat associate it as such.

Leighton--- I went to college with a guy named Leighton so I can only picture this on a guy.

Elle--- I can see this as being slightly more sophisticated and mature than Ella. Though it is shorter it seems to carry more substance than the more commonly used nickname.

Reese--- I think this is one I prefer as a girls name...though I think Rhys works nicely in the middle name spot for boys.

Skylar--- You already know my thoughts on this one :(

Zoe(y)--- Same here

Everly---I definitely prefer the spelling Everly...I think Ever is a cute nn...just not sure if the full name would age very well. :\
