Hey :) We kind of want to get a head start on deciding on my little one's name although we're choosing not to find out the gender because we want the surprise.

At the moment, we have three frontrunners for a boy and three for a girl that we would love some opinions and/or suggestions please!

Boys

Edmund Hugo

Jasper Drake

Caspian James

Girls

Cecily Ursula

Ada Guinevere

Lyra Ophelia

Hi Selena! So exciting! I have never been able to convince my husband to find out the gender with any of my daughters, but I always found it so fun! Your names are so adorable. Edmund Hugo is so handsome! It works amazingly for a little baby, a young boy, a teenager, and an adult man. Amazing choice. Jasper Drake, I usually am not a fan of Jasper or Drake, but this combination is the best! I really like how well it flows and the agelessness than comes with the name. Caspian James would have to be my favorite of the three. I just think that it has this whimsical feel that I really like. Also the nickname Cas/Cass is so handsome. Cecily Ursula is such a pretty name. I love Cecily, but my mean neighbor growing up was named Ursula, so I guess that I have a bad association with it. Never mind that though, Cecily Ursula is so beautiful! I notice that when you say "Cecily Ursula" there are quite a few syllables (which I honestly don't mind, and I'm sure you don't), but it's not like you'll be speaking her full name constantly. Ada Guinevere is so pretty and timeless. I think the name flows seamlessly and perfectly. Another amazing choice. Lyra Ophelia is also beautiful, I love Ophelia. You may have some confusion there, though, if you see your niece (just noticed through your signature, not a personal stalker or anything :) ) often, but if not, it won't be a problem. In fact, there are two nephews named Benjamin in my husband's family, but it isn't really a big deal. Hope that this feedback is helpful. Good luck!  :D

Just noticed this now, but it should be "I have never been able to convince my husband not to find out the gender with any of my daughters".  :)

I'm not a huge fan of the boy names! I love Hugo though!! All the middle names for the boys are nice. Some more ideas:

Henry

Owen

Alex

Dante

Finn/Flynn

I think Ada is such a beautiful name! Lyra is nice as well. I've never personally loved Cecily or Ursula.

Hi Mal! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback, it's really really appreciated :)

It helps so much to know what other people are thinking and to get their impressions. It's funny because Caspian James is my other half's personal favourite whereas I lean more towards Jasper Drake :P

You're so sweet and totally on the money with Cecily Ursula! I have an average length first name but my middle name is super long so longer names don't faze me haha :) Also, side note I've just looked at your signature and Natalie Pearl is beautifully simple! <3 In regards to Lyra, that was a total autocorrect fail  :o It was meant to say Liora Ophelia but I guess I'm super close to my niece and always ask my sister about what she's up to so I guess it changed to Lyra!

Just out of pure curiosity: do you have any suggestions pretty please? I always love new ideas! Thanks again <3

Thank you, Zoe! We do like Finn, however it's the name of my partner's best friend so we're steering clear as we don't want to honour anyone :)

Thank you so much for the compliment on my Natalie's name! It was so sweet of you! Also, Liora Ophelia would have to be my favorite of the girls' names! Liora is so pretty and uncommon, which something that I adore in names (although my daughters have fairly common ones)! Liora is easy to pronounce, and it could honestly be perfect for any age. I truly cannot get enough of it! I love all of your options! Your little baby will definitely have a beautiful name, regardless of gender! Also, suggestions, I think your combinations currently are perfect, so I won't suggest new firsts or middles. I do have a few ideas. I am not the best at this, but here goes:

Douglas- I just think that Douglas has a royal feel, like Edmund, Hugo, Jasper, and Caspian do to me. Doug is honestly not the most appealing nickname, but I think the full name - Douglas - may be your style? FYI, it means "black stream".

Arthur- I also think that Arthur is royal-sounding(?) and I think it goes well with your other boys' options. This one means "noble, courageous".

Douglas Arthur or Arthur Douglas would be quite the combination. I think they go well together, but the full name may be a bit formal.

More first and middle name combos for these...

Douglas Leo

Douglas Henry

Douglas Jacob

Douglas Frederick

Douglas George

Douglas Timothy

Douglas Jack

Arthur Leo

Arthur Henry

Arthur Jacob

Arthur Frederick

Arthur George

Arthur Timothy

Arthur Jack

Mabel- I feel that this fits in with your other girls' names. It doesn't have that "spark" that your other girls' names have, though.

Willa- I think that this sounds like the type of name that you like. I don't have much else to say, otherwise.

Willa Mabel is nice. I think it is much more "expected" (if you will) than your other girls'names.

Mabel Anastasia

Mabel Elliora

Mabel Calidora

Mabel Adeline/a

Mabel Apollonia

Willa Celeste

Good luck! Sorry if these are poor suggestions  :)

Mal, you truly are an angel! Thank you so much for your considerate, wonderful suggestions :)x

Boys: We really like Arthur Douglas! It feels so regal and in keeping with our vibe. We also like Douglas Henry and Arthur Frederick! They will certainly be added to the list :)

Girls: I love Mabel Apollonia, however my other half can only think of The Godfather so it's out unfortunately :( Willa Adelina on the other hand is gorgeous and has a certain spunk so will definitely be added! We also like Calidora as a possible first name so there's plenty of food for thought, thank you

Oh my goodness! Selena, you are just so kind! I had no idea my suggestions would be so impactful! Glad you liked some of my ideas. My husband relates every single name to T.V./movies as well! (Luckily, he loves Shrek, so Fiona's name has a "good" movie association) So excited for the announcement of your little one's name!  :D
