Beatrice / Beatrix

I really love the originality of Beatrice and the nickname Bea is darling.

Beatrix is the new 'modern' way of using it. Either way, I'd pair it with Jean.

Thoughts?

I like both, but I do have a preference for Beatrice. It's softer and more feminine IMO. Good luck! :)

I've never really considered Beatrix modern - the Trixie Belden books started in the 40's and Beatrix Potter was around quite a bit before that. I just considered it quirky.

Both versions have made it onto my list, though I prefer Beatrice right now. It's a family name for me, as is the nickname :)

I definitely consider both Beatrice and Beatrix old fashioned :) but either sound fab with Jean! <3 I dont care for Beatrice, even though its within my style range. I guess I mostly dont care for how Bea sounds. Its a great name though, and I'd love to see it used more! :P

Personally I would pronounce Beatrice and Beatrix differently.

Beatrix I pronounce more like Bee uh TRICKS
Beatrice I would pronounce like Bee uh TRISS

Beatrice is more old-fashioned, however Beatrix looks made-up to me.. I'd go with Beatrice or even wdyt of Brea? :)

I like both names and I always thought both of them old fashioned. After all, we have Beatrix Potter, who created Peter Rabbit years ago.

And, as Katie said, Beatrice and Beatrix are pronounced differently (well, I always have).

I think I like Beatrix better :)

As I mentioned before, I like them both. However, I just noticed why I've been steering more towards Beatrice.

Beatrix reminds me of Bellatrix -_-

I generally prefer Beatrix, though certain names might be a lot better with Beatrice if you are using it as a middle.
